    Hi Everyone,

I found this pic of a cake that I really liked and was perfect for our theme (Grecian), however I wanted it in silver rather than gold as our colours are blue, white and silver.
When I showed the lady doing my cake she said she really liked the design but thought it wouldnt work in silver and wouldnt look right.
I left a but disheatened as I really like the design. We were changing a few bits to it, we are having a white dove topper and I would probably have a Grecian Key design rather than the pattern this one has.

Now today I come across a cake that is very very similar to the one above but in silver, I really like it and do not think it looks odd. Ive emailed it to my cake lady and am waiting a response.
Do you think the silver looks good?

I like the gold one tbh. Does it matter if the cake isn't the same colour scheme. I have come to thinking. Who is going to notice?

I don't think it's that she can't be bothered, she is a family friend and has told me she will make sure that my cake is special.
She was giving me her honest opinion but I have a different opinion so just wanted to check with others to see if my idea does look silly. x

It looks fuller in gold honestly. The silver one isn't silly or horrible it's just plainer looking xx

I think she was probabley meaning the detail won't stand out as much as the contrast between the white and silver is less than that of white and gold. I still think it works. Love the top cake.

Yeah thinking about it, it does look a bit cold looking all in silver.
Maybe I should add some blue into it to warm it up a bit?

I agree with Jodie, silver and blue would look good (and the Greeks painted all their marble/plaster anyway, it actually would have looked pretty gaudy, lol)

I like the silver although would add more to the cake to make the colours more obvious. Was also thinking that you could make the cake stand out further by having a decorative table for the cake to stand on like scrunched blue satin and silver leafs (if I could print pictures from my head it would be easier to describe =] )

I like the blue satin idea Sparklez!

Suzyb i know what you mean i don't like yellow gold either BUT i think the gold on the cake looks much better against the cake than the silver does :(
I think the idea of having it in blue and silver is definitely something you should look into.I have never seen a blue wedding cake but i think your design would look good and would be unique xxx

I think the silver one is prettty and would look even better once it has a cake topper on it.
    :)
