So my brothers girlfriend is my bridesmaid we get on very well
As a hobby & extra cash she makes cakes
She is good and I've had her make my children's birthday cakes ect..
She offered to make my wedding cake free as a gift and at first I was like omg yes please thank you blah blah
But after speaking to my mum were now thinking its not such a good idea because even though shes good as a kids cake but dont want to risk my wedding cake, it could end up lob sided or anything :/
Im now thinking i should get the girl who made my engagement cake and she only charged me £80 for a beautifully decorated 2 tier cake that must of taken hours!
I just really don't want to upset my brothers girlfriend/friend/bridesmaid
And don't know what to say to her :/ x

Just say that as your bridesmaid you want her to be spending time with you and the other bridesmaids pampering etc in the days before your wedding and not getting herself stressed over your cake as it will be a big task. Good luck hun xxxxx

That's what I was thinking. She already has a role in your wedding & you want her to enjoy it x

Becky- 2 cakes is always an idea but I'd feel like I was insulting her even more then if her cake looked pants compared to my proper one she might feel really upset :/ x

Agree with the other ladies; I'd just say you've had a think about it and that you REALLY appreciate the offer, but because it will be so busy in the run-up, and you'll need her to help with bridesmaid things (if necessary, think of something she can help with lol), plus you want plenty of time the day before to relax/pamper yourselves and start preparing, and that you think it'd be too much (or words to that effect)

Basically, play up her role as bridesmaid as much as possible lol
