Hi everyone! I have a wee question - I am looking for a Cadillac or Hot Rod car for me and Pops/Me and Hubs - my wedding is 50's themed (i'm a rockabilly nut!) but nearly all of them are in bloomin' Essex! I have found one in Bolton (I'm in Preston) and the quote is £475 for 5 hours.
Is this a normal quote? I have absolutely no frame of reference of car hire costs (though I have a limo for my bridesmaids, quoted at £238, I thought that was reasonable).
Can anyone shed some light? Would I be paying too much there or is that normal?

i wanted to hire H2B Shelby GT500 (one from gone in 60 seconds) as its his favourite car. it was in essex too and i live about 2.5 hours away. they wanted £700ish just to take him to the church in the morning plus extra for mileage if we wanted it to take us to the reception which is 30mins away. so £400 is not a lot in my experience.
the cost is so high as you are getting a speciality car and 5 hours for car hire quite a lot. we are having 2 vintage bridal cars for £600 one for us and one for bridesmaids. they will pick us up around 11.30 and we will be at the reception venue until about 2.30 including a 30 min drive to reception so thats only like 3 hours. but i think ours is hire all day if we need it. do you really need it for 5 hours? is it any cheaper to have the car for a shorter period of time? x

Unfortunately, we can only hire the car for 1 hour or 5 hours, no between which really sucks because we only need it for about 2.5hours :(

Whatever you book, don't book it with ***********
This company let me down two days before my wedding. I had booked a pink limo 11 months before but they told me it was broken down. I checked with the company they subcontracted to and he assured me his limo was not broken down and very much in use. I believe limo brokers either double booked or let me down out of spite. I had complained to them and threatened legal action because they tried to fob me off with a tacky party limo instead of a classic wedding one. Their customer service is a joke, they are rude, nasty and uncaring. I will do all I can to spread the word about how bad they are! Nobody should be treated like this.
Their story has been reveal on BBC Watchdog last month.

Ah thanks for the heads up love - thankfully I've booked the limo for the bridesmaids through a limo service I've used before :)

Sounds ok. There aren't a lot of these cars around so I'd expect them to be a bit more. Have you tried negotiating with them on the length of the rental?

Hi Have you thought of contacting NRSA or one of the other hot rod or custome car organisations based in the Uk. They may be able to put you in contact with someone. My dad has a hot rod, along with three vintage cars and he has been approached at car shows before by people like yourself. Unfortunately my dad us too far from you but thought I would suggest it. X
