I have friends who live over in America and when I showed them a picture of my prefered wedding dress they told me that over there the same dress was only £200! They have tried to convince me to order it online and then have it shipped over and pay for alterations when it arrives here.....has anyone else done this? xxx

The thing is I have a problem with going into normal Bridal shops as I had a gastric bypass 18 months ago and have lost just over 12 stone, I would have been having a body lift this year but I have had to cancel due to being pregnant. This has left me very self concious and would hate to be seen by any assisstants, I know this might sound silly, but I don't even let my OH see me without clothes on! I'm hoping to have my body lift before my wedding but it's not likely because you have to let your body to return to normal after having a baby and this can take anything from 18 months to 3 years. I will need alot of alterations because I will carry on losing weight (still currently losing weight whilst pregnant aswell) but I know my nan and my aunt can alter it, and I don't feel so self-concious around them. I wouldn't want to just go into a Bridal shop here in the UK pick a dress without trying it on and for them not to do the alterations, as I feel they might think this weird. I liked the thought of buying from abroad but also worried I might get ripped off....just really confused at the moment :-/ xxx

I would really appreciate the link thank you Tiggs xxx

Would you go in to a bridal shop and try dresses on? designer dresses are amazing and if you can order from abroard make sure you get a proper dress and not a rip off. My dress shop do alterations to dresses they have not brought in i thonk they would see it as making money TBH. If you are still losing weight then i would wait till really close to the time to choose and check around the bridal shop sale rails or just buy off of the peg you can get amazing dresses that way and pay half the price. My dress is a discontinud maggie the one that i wanted was in the sale at £600 and was £1000. well done on losing the weight hun x x x x
