I never expected to feel like this.I am so happy to be married but i am totally gutted that the wedding is over.I felt like a princess and all day i floated on air.It was amazing and i felt like a movie star...i felt so incredibly special. Now i just feel totally deflated, ordinary, dowdy and just so sad that i will never have that feeling again.I know its silly but does anyone else feel like that...it almost feels like i'm grieving for something i have lost forever! x

Congrats on the wedding, hope you had a lovely day! sounds like almost holiday blues but trouble is you carnt just have another holiday to get the feeling back.. or i suppose that's why maybe people renue their wedding vows?lol
I think i would feel the same though, all this planning and prep for one special day, i think most people feel a little deflated after i would imagine. x

It is very like holiday blues MrsLowe2b... our 7yr old has suggested we get divorced so that we can remarry lol! She feels down too bless her x

Haha she's very clever. I can imagine feeling like that. All the planning and excitement and leading up for months and months then it's all gone :-(
I feel like that as well. It was all over so quickly, I just wanted it to carry on longer.

Think that's the trouble for us all these days. Years gone by you would move in with your husband following the wedding and start a new adventure together. These days we just back to earth with a thud. Can't wait to marry h2b I just still dread the after blues as I have spent so long planning.
You need to start a new hobby or plan something new to take your mind off it xx

I feel the same hun, I loved all the planning and build up so much and still feel quite lost without it. The wedding was a massive focus in my life and it feels horrible to think that its all over and gone forever. I think about the wedding all the time, analyse every little detail and cant seem to break the cycle. Still have days now when I feel so flat, bored and just want to re-live it all again. Its an amazing time in your life and it being over has hit me harder than I ever expected. Big hugs to you cus I know exactly how you're feeling xxx

I never thought I would but I feel it too.....I miss the planning, the shopping and even being treated so nicely on my hen night....I felt so special.....like everyone was pushing the boat out to make ME feel like a queen....I never had that before and I was sometimes overwhelmed by it, but I wouldnt mind a bit of it again.....
When we went on honeymoon I still felt special as I was still a new bride.....but when we got home and went back to work......I am now JUST a wife..... :(

Ah Sazzell23 you made me cry because i know exactly how you feel.Hugs to you too xxx RaggedyAnne i wasn't expecting it either and i know my husband would definitely not want to do the whole renewing vows thing. its a catch 22 thing...it was such an incredible day because it was a once in a lifetime experience but now i am devestated that it was a once in a lifetime experience! I am extremely happy to be a wife and Tori you are right,in days gone by i would be in the process of setting up my first home with my new husband and maybe planning a family...all new and exciting times ahead. However we have 3 kids between us (although both of us first( and only!) marriage) and we have been living together for 7 years so its not exactly new lol! We arent even going on honeymoon until probably this time next year BUT we are hoping to get away for a few days in half term fingers crossed. Perhaps we should start up a self help group for 'Post Wedding Blues Syndrome'....anyone think of a more catchy name for it!!! x

My friends sister felt exactly like you have described, she was really low and upset when she got back from honey moon. I guess it's like a come down. I think it's perfectly normally. I hope you start to feel better soon though. xxx

its bound to feel very different esp after all the time and planning you will have done...now its all over. Maybe book a short night stay in a hotel with hubby soon or something. Thats what we plan to do to take minds off it a few weeks after xx

As i keep telling my bewildered husband (who incidently doesn't feel at all like this!) i am only feeling like this because i had such an amazing day! Rosy we are going to try and book a little minimoon in the next few weeks although its a bit tricky as hubby is very bust=y at work at the moment. xxx

Awww .............CONGRATULATIONS to you and your new hubby! Please don't feel low, it's only natural to feel like things have gone back to normal but you both have your whole married lives together to look forward to, think of all those things you can plan and share together and there must be things that you put on hold or couldn't do because of the wedding that you can now look forward to and get excited about. xx

I knew this was going to happen, having all the run up to it and then over so quickly, but never did I think to such an extent. Like others I just want to relive it all over again, without the nerves so that I can enjoy things like the food which I was on too much of a natural high to be able to eat. Just simple things like that. Was such a special day for us all.

me and the hubby have the post wedding blues :-( we were starting to plan for our house and babies but thats all been put on hold as we have to help his parents (who we live with) as his dad is out of work and he was the main bread winner so we are having to pick up the slack which is fine just means we will be a tad delayed with our plans so we are feeling really deflated

Congratulations! Glad you had such a good day :-)
I sort of feel the same. I'm a bit 50/50.
I'm glad it's over in a way. It took all my money, all my time, I spent hours on the internet searching for ideas and for things to buy that I feel like I've got my life back to be honest! Also I worried for the whole run up. Would my hair be long enough, my nails, would I lose the weight, would people come, would they like my dress? etc etc. Feel so much more relaxed now.
But that said, I feel sad that it's all over so soon. We were only engaged 11 months so it sort of came and went a bit too fast. This time last year I was booking the venue and now I've been married 6 weeks and its back to normal!

Becky...thats...so....funny! I am feeling a bit better today (i have passed the dreaded 1 week anniversary yesterday where all day i was thinking 'this time last week') I am a bit worried as hubby is back to work on nights next week and as someone has left unexpectedly he may have to cover lots of his shifts so i am going to be left to my own devices pretty much :( However it does mean we should be able to work out when we will be able to get away (just for a couple of days) for a minimoon. That will give me something to look forward to.I am going to throw all my energies into designing our thank you cards and starting to sort our photos into some kind of order.I will also endevour to put a post on here to tell you all about our day and get some more photos on too! p.s Its so good to know that i am not on my own feeling like this, thanks girls xxx

Actually I dont mis the spending constantly, the shopping etc, and if some of you remember I made 9 dresses! I made 4 bridesmaid dresses then didnt like them so made all 4 again, then I made my own (and didnt like that one in the end so bought one from a shop) ...........so I dont miss that because I was finishing the last details 2 days before the wedding day...!
I enjoyed making them, but I just wish I had only had to make the 4 instead of doing them all over again, because by the time I got to my last one I was P'd off with them. Plus I made a lot of other stuff too. I dont think I miss all of that, what I miss is the actual day.....the sun shone, it was a beautiful wedding, but all over far too quickly.

Why not plan your first anniversary, maybe look at what it represents, I dont know the list but I know they all have something attached to them...paper, diamonds etc....could give you something to focus on when the nights are long without your hubby? If you plan ahead, the cost wont be too excrutiating either....chin up xx

Just to let you know i am feeling a lot better.I think my husband was beginning to wonder if marrying me had been such a good thing after all as it obviouslly made me so sad! I think it was just the price i had to pay for such a wonderful day. Anyway i have booked us a minimoon. We are going to Chester to Doubletree Hilton and spa and we are going to get pampered.I have also put my wedding post on here and uploaded loads of photos to my album ...so if anyone fancies a peek xxx
