Mine's just ballooned to £3000. I wanted it to be less but just can't see how to do it without not inviting most people for the food!
CommentAuthorMrs Rebecca Hossfeld

CommentAuthorFaye
we had an expensive venue before so was £20,000, which is crazy, but got a better venue for less money so we're probably going to spend about £12,000 now xx
CommentAuthorMrs Alsbetty

Ours was roughly £20,000 but its now went over and is now £22,000 - we have been saving really hard since the start of last year and have paid for the whole lot ourselves although we still have £4600 left to pay as part of venue cost, dj and little odds and bob £2200 of that is in savings account and just need to save the other £2400 from now until the wedding stressing me out but I'm sure we will get their as we have saved so much already that this is not a great deal to save considering.xx

Mines approx £10,00...shameful to say the least lol!!! I could truly go wild to be honest but the spending has to stop somewhere I suppose lol xxx
CommentAuthorcandygirl1uk
I thought under £5000, BUT didn't factor in the honeymoon, but ours is a little unconventional as its 6 months long, and we've been saving for ages and ages and have kinda just popped a wedding before the going away as it feels right! So its actually a lot more, but the travelling we were going to do anyway. so over £15,000! When you start planning you realise that what you could spend is simply endless, I mean there are dresses out there for £2500+++++ They are BEAUTIFUL, but its just crazy!

my wedding is bewtwen 4grand and 5 grand..
CommentAuthorRoxii
Eeekk!! Ours is as cheap as we can get it, but atm it's clocking in at around 10,000 (inc honeymoon) Arrrrhhhh! how are you all managing to keep such low budgets??? Cause even spending only £128 on the dress and £11 on jewellery for me everything else is Madly expensive... And we havent even thought about the cake.. Or men's suits yet!! Other than Ebay.. wear can I make mine cheaper?? x
CommentAuthoryvonne
roxii i think most people are managing to keep costs down with their venue's, maybe not getting married to early, and just havng a buffet and stuff, and ebay is defo a blessing.. xx
CommentAuthorpouchi-loo
mine is 4000, and not a penny over, hoping to speent less so we have more for honeymoon
CommentAuthorlittle_maus
asda do nice suits (they just added a wedding range) and so do matalan if your looking for a more casual look we are getting our from burtons because H2B works there and has discount lol my budgets just doubled from what i wanted to spend but that is due to dmanding mothers wanting certain family to come (by certain i mean most of the family) im going to try cut costs where we can but still its hard
CommentAuthorMelly
Ours is £2000, but i think we are going to come well under that figure. xx
CommentAuthormrs pinkalice
our original budget was 10k for 70 day and 160 evening guests. we have stuck to the numbers so far, but we've booked the registrar, venue, cars, photographer and toastmaster and only have a grand left for everything else! we didn't want to put any of our own money in coz we're saving for a house, but looks like we're gona have to lol x
CommentAuthorLou lou
ours is standing at £14000, i',m hoping to reduce it further though ! it doesnt include the honey moon either! the costs of the wedding are a panick in themselves xx
CommentAuthorbridetobe1990
ours is between 5000 and 6000 in total. but we are having a big wedding we found some brilliant pacakges and some great deal our 2 venues is costing £3222. our hotel package is awsome my dress will only be cheap but lovely as i am getting it from china and we are having 65 guests at the day do and 130 at the night do.
CommentAuthorohfiddles
mines is going to be under £2,000. i have gone over the costs again and again to make sure i havent missed anything and its all there. im quite pleased with myself xxx
Our budget is around 9000 although I think we will come in at less. We're buying a house next year too otherwise we would just book things and not worry about cost! xx
CommentAuthorohfiddles
well alot of things we dont have to pay for because family or freinds can do it, such as cake and photography. be happy to share my cut back tips lol xxx
venues is going to be our biggest thing .....i always said i wanted a country house but looking at prices i`m starting to think again ..H2b however has gone from not wanting to know anything so now being very vocal about what he wants .....lol
when i started looking around on wedding site they all said on average £18k so I budgetted for £15k! but after adding it all up its more like £11,000 which is good, but still been hard to pay for everything!
CommentAuthorohfiddles
well it does all depend on what you can compramise on, and how many people you are having. we have cut ours right back to 70 guests. we arent having wedding breakfast so thats a huge price drop just from that. we are getting married in a reg office and the going to local pub for reception that is going to cost the most being just over £1000. xxx
sounds a bit like me, i have in total about 130 close realatives, some live really far away and we can only really talk on the phone so those ones arent coming. you do have to be harsh with numbers when your trying to do a wedding on a budget. i found that it did help me to use a smaller venue for the ceremony as then i had to only invite 50 guest and there was no budging. tell him that if you dont see them at regularly then your really sorry but they cant come, unless your not fused about having a wedding breakfast either, in wich case alot of your guest can come to the whole day as you dont have to give them a 3 course meal after. the buffet we are having at the pub is only £6 a head, and then when i spoke to the gaffer he said that as we are regulars we will get that discounted to. Blad your way to getting things cheap hunny xx
CommentAuthorlittle_maus
ive just realized i havnt factored in the honeymoon!!!!!!!! oh well just add abot £1500 to mine lol hopefully our guests are giving money gifts so that can go towards the honeymoon and the hotel/spa w are having our wedding at includes there best suit for free and a welsh breakfast in the morning to and use of the pool so cant wait ages away but im getting excited now lol ..... weddng fair next thurs too :)
CommentAuthorohfiddles
we arent having a honeymoon, unless like you say the guest give us money rather than gifts xxx

he told me yesterday he wanted his uncle on the list ...we have been together 8 years and i have never met him and he hasnt ever been in touchso i`m abit miffed at having to have him invited in place of friends of mine ...(my family only come to about 10)
put your foot down lol. tell him that the day is for sharing with people that know and love you and are regularly involved in your lives, not long ago seen relatives xxx

we were going to do a budgetr wedding around £3k, but Rob's mum has offered to look after Seren so i can go back to work. if i'm bringing in a 'proper' wage we can splash out, i have come up with a few ideas to give our big day the wow factor, like our wedding car that comes in around £500 and we have found a wedding singer that does Micheal buble don't have a quote yet but his website says prices from £300 so it looks like £8k upwards but do you know what, i only plan n doing it once and i'd rather not look back wishing i hadn't been such a tight git.

Ours seems to be coming in at around £12k (not including honeymoon or ring). Thought it would be more than that!

Our budget is probably going to be around 10,000 if not a bit more. Mum wants to give us the 10K if she can, and we're saving monthly into a joint account, but as the day is so far away, haven't quite written up a budget yet!! xx
I always reckon guests should bring their own food - it lasts such a little time and no-one remembers the grub anyway :)
