    Hi there,
I am looking to get married on a super-tight budget, I don't really mind when but hopefully in the next six months. I have read a lot about a company in the US called Bridal Brokers who re-sell cancelled weddings for a huge discount, and the testimonials are all wonderful. I was wondering if anyone knew of a UK company like this?
    Thank you so much!

not that i know of places like Groupon and Vowcher sell venue deals but they do require you getting married on a weekday usually

If you look at your local venues they normally have a list of last minute dates on their website... When you say your budget is tight... It kinda depends how tight as a 5-6k package would probably be 3-4k still!

I have opted for a church wedding, a church and registry is prob the cheapest, if you get married elsewhere you have to pay a registrar and the venue!

I have then hired a bug house for a weekend long party for our nearest & dearest, then the following weekend having a big after wedding party, I recon excluding the dress we shall spend less than 3k as we will get guests to chip in for house and are not having cars (seems an unnecessary expense to me and the church is walking distance!)

If you want a traditional wedding a lot of venues do £2,013 packages but just watch out for the extras - Disco/DJ/Registrar/extra guests/photography/dress/suits/favours/decoration... It soon adds up :-/

I'm a budget bride if you want anymore tips - I budget with EVERYTHING! But I'm an accountant and I think I was born to be one! Haha xx

It is possible - we have found a golf club and we will be paying less than £2k for the venue, food, drink, buffet, DJ, menus & place cards all included! Then got a friend who is a photographer doing our photos for just £300, gotta pay the registrar £700 and got my dress ordered! My MIL2B is an awesome cook and so is going to help me make my own cake! Also making my own invites, etc. And thinking about a small sweetie table instead of favours! There are loads of tips for budget savvy brides, and I am hoping to bring ours in for £4k in total!

Sarah - I am an accountant too, and have loads of spreadsheets to help stay in budget! Even built a spreadsheet model to calculate the costs of all the venues I contacted if we varied numbers, etc! So sad and geeky but I love it! X

Look on Groupon and KGB for deals in your area, also venues will do deals and offer discounts for any empty slots going esp outside the wedding season. Phone up venues and see what they got.

we are haing 97 day guests and 150 evening and got EVERYTHING for 1k. Yes ONE thousand pounds ( weoo £1039.87 to be exact)

There are loads of ways of saving money.
we have a stunning town hall near us, the rooms they hire are stunning, and it was very cheap compared to somewhere like hotels, country estates etc. so we are getting that grand feeling without the price. (£150 for venue)
We are decorating venue ourselves and having a buffet AND now we got a photographer as well in that budget.
Tonnes of easy ways to save money, and easy things you can do yourselves that you might think on no i cant do that.
