Just wondered is it possible to get married for £2,000 and still have great day and everything you want ie.. Bride dress and bridesmaids and page boys... Alfits for best man and groom and farther of the bride and flowers. And a nice reception, (not 3 course meal ?) plush photos? Has anyone done it or doing it?

Hi I'm sure you could have a beautiful day for that.Try writing down everything you need to pay for-church ect, the what you would like to make your day special. We've managed to cut corners by having my nephews band play for free, friends are doing the disco also for free, photo being done by best womans brother who has taken a course we just need to pay for printing and my best friend who is a hairdresser is doing bridal party hair as a wedding present. Lots of hints and tips on here.

All you have to do is shop around and ask for a % off the price if there is something you like no harm in asking, We have done it with our venue we have this years prices for 2014! We have saved so much money same as our rings etc buy one get one half price :) and dont get married in season! It can be done! Just have to believe in yourselves that you can do it. Good luck x

We are doing or wedding on £3k. We cant afford more then that so we have to stick to that budget. It can be done and had been done. You dont need every thing at the highest cost i am getting an alfred angelo dress which is £700 for £175 as i am having it made by ann. Suits buying from tesco, Wedding - registry office, Meal - Local pub , Reception in the pub near us, Flower - Ebay for £100, Cake - friend making it, Rings - argos,

We're doing ours for £2k as well as we're on the same budget as a lot of the ladies in this thread. :0)

    Church £321
    Reception £80
    Buffet £500
    Dress (my something borrowed!) free
Photos - my aunty is a photographer so free
Video - Being done by my friend £150
    Suits £200
    Invites £30
    Rings £60
Cake - my uncle is making the top tier and the rest will be cupcakes.
    Decorations-still looking into. :0)
DJ - my sisters husband so free!

Ebay is definitely the key to a budget wedding. Congratulations K8tie90, hope that you have a fabulous day.xx

hi had mine at Bertie's in Elland. We had our ceremony, a buffet for 52, reception drinks, toast drinks, table linen, glasses, cutlery, candles and sprinkles, DJ. The ceremony was £380 the buffet was £12.50 a head, all the linen etc was free, the DJ was £225, and the drinks were charged by how many glasses they served.
Of course if you get married at the Register Office it'll be cheaper x
