I can have the band that played at my 40th who were fab and they will cost £1200, or do I go for another band with a disco who will cost £900. I have the budget for the dearer one but the pros and cons are that the pricier option can only play for 4 hours and the reception is 5 hours long? Thought maybe they could start at 7.15 have a 45 min break during buffet and then play till midnight which would be the 4 hours. But then I keep having the thought that if I go for the cheaper option then they can play for the whole 5 hours and it leaves me with extra money to pay for other things. What would you do - advice please?

I'd go for the 2nd option personally as they have the disco too and they can do it for the time required
But if your prefer the first band then I'd send them a message saying you've had a better quote and can they match it or do it for 5 hours? Xx

Id go for the second option, unless, like katie said, you can get them to cut you a deal, think of what £300 could get you as extras! xxx

personally if you love the first i would go with them....if you have any doubts that you would regret choosing option 2 then you need to pick 1. £300 is a far amount of cash but spend it on what will make you happy rather than buying fluff to fill out a room xx

I'd go with the first option. Our band is costing an incredible amount but they are worth every penny

Have you heard the 2nd option play? Like live? Vids don't norm show what they are like, def ask the 1st ones about whether they could do the extea hour an mention the other quote ab ask what the best price is that they can do!

Thanks ladies, I've already asked the first band to play for the extra time and they said they could stretch to an extra half hour as 5 hours is a long time for a live band to play?! Don't know if that's true or not, and no I've not heard the other ones live although they have a few audios on their website which have been recorded live at events.
