Aaagh so we've more or less decided to advance our wedding date by a few months as we are planning to move to the US after getting H2B a visa...which, as happy as I am about it because it lessens the hassle of planning a huge wedding, also means I have to find a cheaper, smaller venue. Sooo my question to all you lovely people regards your ideas for affordable weddings in Greater London. Hoping for some experiences, be it in a village hall, pub, etc...just something nice and clean to echo the fairytale wedding I would otherwise be planning, but less grand and less pricey...probably for about 50 people at most, though most just for afterwards drink and dance. Fingers crossed there are some nice ideas out there :)
Oh and if it helps we're planning the event for October/November!

I can't help you with finding a place as I live in Chester but I'm having a small super low budget wedding so 'may' be able to offer help on that aspect lol :)

Parks and country houses could be worth looking into? We're using a country houses grounds for free... :-D

Tinsel, we live in South West London but I'll pretty much consider everything reachable by public transport...most people attending don't have cars or are travelling from abroad so want it to be fairly painless for them to get there.

Kizzy, I've been looking at country houses and so far only found ones that charge unreasonable amounts! Every single building in the area seems to have jumped on the wedding venue waggon, it's depressing...I think I may have spotted a place on Teddington Lock that suits, will keep everyone posted :) suggestions still very very welcome!
