I don't have many close female friends, so choosing a maid of honour has become a little confusing and stressful. So... I was thinking of asking my brother to be my Man of Honour. My h2b has already chosen his best man (it was a foregone conclusion), so we will be standing at the altar with me being the only woman. Is this weird? It's going to be a super small wedding - the Best Man and MOH will be the only attendants.
On 21st April 2012 I will marry my best friend!

not at all! we are having a best woman, its good to be different more personal i think! and you want to have someone who you know you can trust to help you out not just someone you feel you should have just because its tradition x
Enjoying being a wifey!!

I've bagsied being Best Man (well, Woman) at my brother's wedding, when he finally gets married. I think it's quite common now, and makes a lot more sense than having someone of a particular gender just for the sake of it!

I say go for it hun! Why do you have to follow tradition? If those closest to you are the people you feel most happiest with then go for it!
Go for it hun and have your day the way YOU want! We're having a super small doo too, I have no attendants and one of my best friends is walking me up the aisle :0) I'm also having a green dress :0)

I have a bridesman included in with my bridal party, although he did draw the line at wearing a suit in the same colour as the bridesmaids! We've ended up with a bestman and a groomsman (no idea what the difference is, but according to my father-in-law to be, these is a difference somewhere) as well as the ushers - the bridal party and the groom's group of helpers are all an indiviual choice, and so long as you and your h2b are happy, that's all that matters. x
