My partner proposed in April and we've booked our wedding for 5th August 2017, so 2 years away. Is it too early to pop the question to my bridesmaids?

Also, I have a small dilemma. I'm MOH for my friend in May 2016. She asked me because she has 2 sisters and obviously didn't want to leave one out. I have 1 sister and so my sister is my obvious choice for MOH but I kind of feel this obligation to my friend as I'm hers (very high school petty, I know). Do you think my friend would be miffed if I didn't ask her? Should I discuss it with her first?

    Thanks

Have who you want. Its your wedding. While it is lovely to think of your friend to be MOH if you are only picking her because you are her MOH then it doesn't sound like the right reason to me.

You could have her as a BM and ask her to do a reading to give her an extra task. Or you could have a MOH and a chief BM so both have equally important roles if you want them both. I don't have a MoH at all as I wanted all my girls to be equal. X

I chose all my bridesmaids 2 years ago but one said she doesn't want to be a bridesmaid anymore as our 'friendship' isn't how it used to be, my 3 sisters were meant to be bridesmaids but not sure now if any of them are even coming to the wedding so at the minute I've got 1 which is sil.

It's your decision when you ask then and do t feel pressured in to asking your friend to be bridesmaid. Like Kirsty said you could have a chief bridesmaid and MOH if you wanted x

Personally I would wait til closer to the time u less you are planning on getting all the bits now as friendships do change as a lot of brides find out. Have who you want as moh as its an important role for them to do. If u feel awkward maybe wait u til after her wedding before naming moh ect. And if she's a good friend maybe explain to her that she's an amazing friend but you feel your sister should be moh and if u feel guilty maybe add that your sister really wNts to do it or some thing x

I'd never expect to be chosen over someone's sister for the MOH role so it depends on the way she views the world.

You still have 2 years which is a long time and a lot can happen in that time so I would suggest giving it more time to think about who you want unless you're absolutely sure, maybe give it another 6-8 months.

I asked the girls to be my bridesmaids 2 years in advance. The only thing I'd say is make sure you are 100000% certain x

It shouldn't be tit for tat when it comes to choosing bridal party. I had my best friend and step-sister, but I don't' expect to even be a bridesmaid if/when my step-sister gets married as she has step-siblings and lots of cousins she is very close to on her mum's side. My family is very small so she was an obvious choice for me :)

I asked my BM's with about 18 months to go so I don't think it's too early, especially if you aren't going to change your mind about who you want.

I have 1 sister but I have asked my best friend to be MOH and my sister is a BM. It's completely up to you who to ask but if you want your sister as MOH then have her, I'm sure your friend will be just as happy to be a BM xx
