I need some advice.....I am paying for my bridesmaids & my mums hair/makeup however my bm all want trials aswell and this will add £160.00 onto the cost of hair/makeup. They have offered to pay for their trials but would that be bad for me to let them pay for their trials. Afterall I asked them to be my bridesmaids? xx

no i don't think it will your paying for on the day so if they want trials which you can't afford to pay for then its up to them to pay for the trial x

i asked my BM's to pay for there trials and i'm paying on the day, one of my BM's is happy to have whatever done on the day so she doesn't want a trial, if they want one let them pay for it otherwise they have what you say on the day hun
don't feel like you have to pay just because you have asked them to be your BM

No not at all. All my bms are paying for their own hair & Make up and i said its up to them if they want to have trials.

I personally would say if they want trials then they can pay themselves, especially if they have already offered hun xx

Do they have an idea in mind of what they would like?...i found a few pics of the same sort of lenght hair etc as my maids, and found a few lovely styles, so from that they chose their own styles as theyt knew what suited them etc..If they want trials, then its only fair that they pay - BM's dont normally have trials. xxx

I have been thinking about this myself. We are paying for everything for BMs and for trials it's more out of the budget. The makeup artist and hairdresser have both said they prefer to do trials do they can work out timing but then I guess they would do wouldn't they? So I'm undecided whether to have the trials and then who should pay? X

I don't think it is bad both my bridesmaids are paying for their own hair and make up. We are on a tight budget so cannot afford to pay for them x

I had pics of a few different hairstyles i would like for them and they are happy with them but are still wanting a trial. Thanks i think i will say to them i will pay for hair/makeup on the day and if they want a trial they will need to pay for this as i can't afford to pay for this also. xx

I just had one of my bridesmaids having a trial & myself as I wasnt prepared to pay for all of them to have a trial but wanted to be sure of the style I chose for them!

No it is not bad to ask for your BMs to pay for their own trials as generally the only trial absolutely necessary is yours. Bridal makeup (for the bride) is a wholly different technique whereas although BM makeup may need some waterproofing it will generally be special occasion makeup.
Just explain to them that as trial isn't completely necessary if they opt to have one it will be at their own expense.

please don't let my BMs see this, I'm not paying for anything of theirs lol! Simply due to having nothing left in the budget, but they are more than happy with that. In fact, 2 years ago when we started planning, I told them how I wanted to treat them to hair and make up on the day if I could afford it, and they both declined!! One is a hairdresser, fair enough, the other doesn't like people putting make up on her (I love them dearly, but they are blooming odd!!). Traditionally, they would pay for their own dresses, so it isn't unreasonable to ask them to pay towards anything i don't think. Its not like you're insisting they wear £600 shoes and pay for it themselves!!! And in a way, they get to learn more about make up, apllication of, what suits them etc so it is value for money for them xx

Deffo better to let them pay for the hair trails if they want them than saying no you can't afford it or putting yourself £160 out of pocket.
