OK ladies, I've found the dresses that both my big bridesmaids like - Alfred Angelo 7016 in Victorian Lilac.

One BM lives in Plymouth, one up by me. So, we're in the shop and the woman is pushing the hard sell (which annoys me) and basically trying to scare me into buying them! "Oh, well, these dresses take 4 months to come in" at which I pointed out that I'm getting married in 4 months...."Ooh, if you order now we can do you a 10% discount" I can order now, but I cant pay now, I'm skint till pay day. "Oh, we can't hold the discount for you".

Nightmare. Why can I not just find a dress shop with an online order system that will tell me the price for a dress and allow me to order online? Instead, we're all expected to spend ages on the phone, then make appointments, then try to ship friends from Plymouth, and they wonder why my deadline's getting shorter?

Grrrrr....I hate shopping, I've been out shopping all day, and now I'm rather grumpy :)

    Thanks for reading!

    Hels x x

Does it have to be Alfred Angelo? There are some gorgeous dresses on the high street at this time of year and if you choose a big chain then you bridesmaid in Plymouth can go into her local store and try on. x

    Thanks ladies...

Lelbel - trust me, we've been to EVERY high street store today. There's one possible dress by Coast, but we're not sure if the big size will fit my Plymouth girl. SHe's going to try and find one in Plymouth tomorrow to try on and check. If it works, we're getting that. I just hate the hard sell and blackmail these wedding dress shops use. I'd rather they all wear jeans and t-shirts than we be squeezed on the spot!

I'm getting mine through style notes (link on my wall) and they are so much cheaper than the bridal shops. Its based in the UK and do either standard size or made to measure. Most of them are around £55-65.00. Its worth having a look at. They also don't take 4 months to order! If I were you and you want to use a bridal shop I would ring around and ask what the best price is they can offer you etc. Its amazing how many will do a buy so many get one free etc if you ring around asking. They want your money and know if you are ringing to ask that you are wanting to buy. Some will just turn you down but there will be some that will do good deal for you.

I hope that i dont break the rules of UKBride

But Alfred Angelo have loads of stores around the country, try this link
    http://www.alfredangelounitedkingdom.com/Stores/StoreLocator.aspx

I have to sort out my partners and my bridesmaids, and god its difficult enough trying to get the right dresses, because Kim and I live down cambridgeshire and they live in Redcar, but when one of my partners bridesmaids is being a pain, It makes it so much more difficult
If they dont try them on soon, I will make the choice and get them down here

    Anyhow good luck
