Hi everybody, I have a slight dilemma and wanted to ask for your thoughts. My h2b and I are planning to get married next year, and my MoH works a lot which is fair enough, I do too, BUT she has suggested me asking my best friend for help, only thing being is that my best friend is a guy. He's been my best friend for year's and knows me almost as well as my H2b. My h2b suggested him being a man of honour, but I have no clue or even heard of anything like it before? xoxox

Nothing wrong with having a man of honour esp if he's going to be so much help to you. I have heard a couple of b2b's saying about a man of honour - so although not traditional you won't be the first xx

I would say a man of honour is pretty normal, and I think if u know each other that well anyway, he should be able to help you perfectly x

That's a relief. Thank you!:) I mentioned it to my family in a conversation and they went nuts! Me and will have known each other since I first started college and he's practically like a brother to me, I'd be lost without him with doing all of the planning lol. My h2b still hasn't made a decision on his best man yet xoxox

I love that idea...! I think you'd regret it if you didnt, my best friend is a guy and I was always joking around saying I should have been his best woman lol and even he admits now he wishes he'd ignored the critics and done it cos his best man was truly awful!! x

I knew someone who did it the other way and had a best women. It's happening more and more that roles are not adhering to the traditional genders. You'll just have to think about how you make the procession work and who stands where at the front. Perhaps e could walk your maid of honour down the aisle. You'll have to think carefully about the outfit as well. He'll need something that colourwise links him to the bridesmaids, but at the same time he needs to look different to the ushers, and possibly to the best man and any groomsmen.

30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.

Huhm... that's true. I hadn't thought about that. I have one flower girl, one maid of honour and one bridesmaid but we're going with goddesses for the inspiration, I'm not entirely sure I can make that work for him haha. Thank you everyone:) my h2b hasn't decided on who he is having as his best man yet, so I'm not entirely sure how to work around that for the clothing either=/ I will have a talk with my h2b and friend to see what they say and hope will (man of honour) agrees:) thank you xoxox
