Yes order on line, then she can order her dress from the same place, and have it sent to oz she can have the alterations (if needed) out there and then come with it ready, we are doing that for our blessing in oz, my sisters will get the same dress as the bridesmaid coming out with us, not sure if i will have a new dress or use my one from here, our blessing will be 5 months later (having a blessing as all my family are out there)

or find a style of dress by a designer that stocks in Aus and she can go and try it on there and then you can order it once she is happy with the size

My cousin in south africa is one of my bridesmaids and she arrives in the country on the Wed & my mom is bringing her to me on the thurs (I get married on the sat) So because of this and other reasons I am having my bm dresses maid. My cousin will be with her most the day Thurs and the dress will be ready Fri morning. Its not cheap £180ish each but I only have 2 bm and it so much less stress then it could be. The dress is designed for me!

Mine lives in Malaysia, so we've been skyping and we decided on a colour, and I let her choose her own style and material - we agreed on a budget, and when she found it she sent me a photo of it so I can colour match the other bits of the wedding - she's not turning up until 2 days before the wedding either so it really is fingers crossed it all comes together last minute! Just takes some extra organisation is all...

My Maid of Honor is flying in from America :/ I'm ordering a dress from ebay in a standard size, so I guess I'm taking a chance haha. I have a dressmaker friend tho so she can probably fix it if it all goes to he11 :) xx

Thank you all so much you have made me feel alot better. I think as she is back next month for her mum's 60th I am going to take advantage and go dress hunting take picci's and probably go with the idea of her trying one on in Oz then emailing or calling her for the size then when she gets back before the wedding will just do the alterations then as she has missed so many flights and i can imagine that she may just leave her dress at home so best keep it her with us.

Thank you all again I hope you all have fabulous days

My sisters BM lives in Canada (wedding was last year). She only did one trip here before the week of the wedding so the 3 of us went shopping when she was over, 1 shop, 1 hour and we'd found 2 dresses both of us were happy to wear and my sis decided which to go with. She then just gave her measurements as the dresses were ordered and the bridal store agreed to do last minute/late alterations like a rush job a couple of days before the wedding so we did these when she arrive for the wedding.

Another of my friends had a handful of BM's who lived in a few different countries so decided on a few dresses by the same designer that you can get internationally and just let them choose the style they wanted from the options in the same colour and fabric and order them from their local bridal store.

I love the idea of different dresses but feel that it looks better with more than 2 bridesmaids. Thank you for your advice InDreamland :)
