i collected my bridesmaid dresses yesterday and tryed them on my 4 girls last not and all of them are about 4/5 inch to small i cant get the zip up at all :( they were only messured 4 weeks ago looks like they wasnt messured propely , im panicking now incase i dont get them sorted for the wedding i thought my wedding plans were going to well :( xx

Have you contacted the lady who made them and asked her for help? If they were measured wrong maybe its her fault?

i would get in touch with who ever made them hun sounds like its there error if they did the measuring there no way the girls have grown between 10-13 cms in the last four weeks hope u get everything sorted hun xxx

I wouldnt imagine ALL girls had got that much bigger, so yes it does sound like the shops / makers fault on this one. really hope you can get it sorted out!

Oh no! Id deffo be getting on the phone to the dress maker / shop and causing murder! No way have the BM's all got 4-5 inches bigger in that time!

get in touch and tell her straight, these are wrong. you can understand if one dress doens't fit as they bridesmaid has put on weight however none of them fit and none have put on weight your bringing them back and you want them sorting. If you don't get a response on the phone/email just turn up with them and throw them at her and tell her to sort them or you want ALL your money back to you can go and get some new ones

thanx every1 ive got intouch and said my peice and she says i have to bring the bridesmaids in and she will alter the dresses , as she said there is always extra material left in the dress but ive looked and i cant see any extra material :( , so i contacted trainding standards and they said she will have to alter them or give me new dresses as its my rights . the only thing is i could do without the stress and also my partner has to have a day off work to take the girls back as i dont no how to get there :( arrrrrrrr makes me mad :( xx

What she probably means is she will 'let out' each seam, because she made allowances for it in the seam allowance (which is typically 5/8 of an inch......she might have left 1 inch allowance) .....and if she lets out each seam by just 1cm.....and there are loads of seams, she will find the extra inches you need..... BUT be aware that if she does take out each seam , depending on the kind of fabric used, there may be visible needle marks in the fabric. especially with satin. not a good look. some fabrics such as taffeta , steaming the needle marks makes them disappear but not so with satin. you dont want the dresses to look like they have been taken apart and put back together again (even if they have)

Theres nothing bridezilla about this, if you go off on one then you have every right to.......a bridezilla kicks off for silly insignificant things......this is not a silly insignificant thing....this is major, and I dont know anyone who wouldn't kick off if it happened to them.

Oh my god I would have gone nuts! Its all very well saying she can make the dresses fit but she will only be able to let the dresses out around one size which it between 1 and 1.5 inch. i really hope you manage to get this sorted out to your satisfaction! Was this a shop that did these or did you order them online? x

i took the girls to a shop mrsmarr2b but i do no the lady who measured my girls was new :(
well the latest news is that i took the girls back today took me an hour to get there as its a way from my home when i got there all the girls put the dresses on so they could see what they looked like , then seemstress came out took a look at 1 of the girls , then the owner said if you could take them off and we will get them altered for you , i said dont you need to take there measurements again and she said no the seemstress had a look and she knows what to do , but i dont think they will still be any gd im really fed up now i really dont think they will b any good so im gunna wait get them the end of the week and if they dont fit im gunna get my money back and go somewere else ive only got 8 weeks left and i have to travel a long way to get them its costing me a fortune in petrol :( x

Dont be downhearted, what she will probably do is put 2 new panels in.......one each side.......and then add the skirt back on. if thats what she is doing it will be fine.... the bodice can be made up of 4, 5 6 or 8 peices, what she will probably do.....and what i would do if i was doing it myself is remove one of them.....say....the one from the middle of the back and re-cut another new peice, larger in size, then pop it back in to the seam. its not a huge job, its not difficult, but it does take a little while. maybe 2 hours max. she needs to remove the skirt to do it, then replace it. and if she keeps to the stitch marks she made before it will work out fine......honestly.

UPDATE had 1 of my bridesmaid dresses back and it fits yeeey , fingers crossed that the others will fit 2 when i get them back :) xx

im not sure raggedyanne my parner picked this 1 up for me cus he was in the area so i didnt talk to them , but i cant see any stich markings so they probably did , im just glad this 1 fits it gives me more faith in the others now :) x
