Me and my bridesmaids have been talking about dresses and the lady I have my dress from has said she can make what we want for £100 each, me and fiancé aren't sure what we should budget for the dresses.. I only have two bridesmaids, but we would need an underskirt and shoes to go with the dresses as well (plus if they have anything in their hair)
How much have you budgeted for bridesmaid dresses or how much did your bridesmaid dresses end up costing?
CommentAuthorDanielleMystic
not really sure :/ my mum is making all my dresses so paying out for shoes won't be such a big deal and I'm making jewellery, accessories and bouquets! maybe pay for their dresses and accessories but let them get the shoes (unless theyre short dresses and odd shoes will look terrible) but if they can then thatll save you some stress and money x

We're going for short dresses
Originally we were going for long dresses so they could wear whatever shoes they wanted but we've all fallen in love with the idea of short dresses in one colour with all accessories in another colour including shoes... I've spoken to one of my bridesmaids about it and she seems very keen on trying another dress we've seen on, which is the opposite colour to what we wanted but we'd just do it all the other way round... and it's only £40 so that extra £60 could go towards all the accessories... my mum isn't so sure on that dress though as it's just a normal material (like cotton) but my bridesmaid thinks that with all the accessories and a satin sash it would look bridesmaidy and special enough.
It's worth them trying it on anyway at least.

I've budgeted about £100 each max for the bridesmaid dresses as I have 4 bridesmaids! They are paying for their own shoes, I'm paying for their dresses and their jewellery :)

I had hoped to get mine under £100 but the ones I wanted were gonna cost me £220 here. I tried to settle for some others from Bh5 but they just didn't cut it. So found a bridal boutique in New York I could get the De55y ones for £135 inc postage etc so decided to do it. Got their shoes for £22 each and necklaces which are their gifts for £25 each, bracelet and earrings I think were £10 so spent around £385 for the two of them
I only have the one bridesmaid my sister and the dress we love both love is £195 plus shoes, accessories etc I think it will be about £400 max for everything including flowers.
After 7 years and 11 months he proposed to me 18.10.13
Our son is 5 years old and our world
Getting married 15.08.15.
Life hasnt been easy but we have each other :)

I originally wanted to spend no more than £80 a dress as I have 4 bridesmaids. I found some gorgeous ones in the sale last summer and bought 6 for just under £40 from a high street shop x
CommentAuthorMiriamF1
I tried and tried and tried to find what I wanted in budget from the high street but no luck so ordered online from China. Fingers crossed they come through ok!! Could only afford £50 per bridesmaid as I have 4 and our colours are burgundy...no luck getting anything even close to our budget from stores over here in that colour even in the sales. Crazy prices in bridal shops as well

Ours have ended up costing quite a lot: £1070. That's for 3 floor-length chiffon D3ssy dresses, one extra length (extra £60) and the other two needed alterations costing £120. Then my MOH's dress is an ivory fitted dress from R1v3r 1sl@nd costing £50, but it needs £100 worth of alterations (taking up; taking in; shoulder pads removing; bust altering (it's stitched weirdly and goes out in a point lol)). Finally we have a junior bridesmaid and we're allowing £100 for her entire outfit; you can get dresses for £50 and shoes and cardigans for £20-ish, so I think that should be more than enough.
The bridesmaids are wearing their own shoes and doing their own hair and make-up.

I had budgeted £100 each but wedding planning has brought out a haggling/bargain-hunter in me and have managed to get them for £25 each and an additional £5 each for custom made jewellery from a friend of my Mum's.

My budget is £100 a BM. dresses cost £50, earrings and a bangle will be pressure and shoes so hopefully stick to £100 budget!

I've budgeted £200 for my adult bridesmaid dresses and hadn't got to little dresses yet but my mum said she will pay for all their dresses Adults are having maxi type dresses so they are wearing their own shoes and doing their own hair
CommentAuthorShowgirl
Forgot to mention that I'll be paying for the BM's hair which is £25-£35 each depending on what style they choose to go for and they're doing their own make up. If they want any hair accessories then they will have to buy them themselves.
CommentAuthorAprilS61
I have two BMs and their dresses are £180 each. I'm getting their jewellery as a gift but after reading some of these posts I might see if they wouldn't mind getting their own shoes and I'll pay for their hair and makeup, worth asking I think :) the shoes I like for them are only £30 anyway so done ok there

I'm hoping to get the shoes & dresses for under £100 each & the flowergirls for under £60. I'm also hoping to have enough money to get jewellery, hair, nails & makeup done, so it will probably cost around £200 each after paying for everything!!
CommentAuthorNic8187
Hi, I originally budgeted £200 each for the dresses, shoes, hair, make up and accessories for my 2 adult bridesmaids, however each dress cost £200. I have now asked the girls if they don't mind getting shoes (im hoping in the sale), hair and make up (can do their own if they want) and 1 if fine, the other hasn't really said much about it. If I could pay for everything I would, but something's you just cant. :)

I've got a few more quotes and £100 seems a good price to have them made
One of my bridesmaids want's to try the ready done one on, I think she's thinking go for the £40... but I really like the idea of having the colours the other way round.... so if money allows I think I'll ask my dress lady to make them both.
CommentAuthorFranM76
My bridesmaid dresses have just arrived from China. They were £25 each and are absolutely stunning. They are exactly as the picture advertised and I couldn't be happier. I wasn't going to pay for the BM's shoes etc as the dresses are long so they can wear whatever shoes they want but as the dresses were so cheap I will probably buy something else (eg hair do)
CommentAuthorkjl87
I have found the perfect bridesmaid dress but all the stockists near me don't have that style :( The closest stockist is an hour away, but they won't tell me the price of the dress over email/phone so I don't want to travel an hour for them to be no good or too expensive. It is an Ang3lo Alfr3d design style 7196. Really love it :(
CommentAuthorDonnaH39
If you look on his website they do have the little bells to show you what price range the dresses are, if you click on the bells it explains more.
I was interested in one of the wedding dresses from that designer and when I messaged to store about it I was surprised that they had it priced on the lower end of the range. (I think the range was under £1,400 and the shop were selling it for £1050)
CommentAuthorDonnaH39
Although I'd be concerned that they wont tell you the price to be honest :/ I have emailed lots of shops about the prices of different dresses and they have all either emailed back with the price or told me the price over the phone.
CommentAuthorkjl87
I'll have another look at the bells to see if it gives me a better idea.
They said they don't give out the prices in case it is a competitor trying to get information - but they said they stick around the rrp price - it would help if I knew what the rrp price is though
CommentAuthorDonnaH39
Hmmmm I just looked on the website and can't find 7196 :/
CommentAuthorDonnaH39
never mind I'd managed to only look in the Disney section
CommentAuthorDonnaH39
It's 3 bells which says under £175 if that helps hun
