I'd be interested in your opinion: my colour scheme is pale pink and silver but I'm really struggling to find bridesmaids dresses in this colour (in my price range - £120 maximum).

Do you think I could get away with brighter pink dresses (or even possibly a pale green?) for the bridesmaids and still keep the pale pink/silver theme for everything else?

I've been looking on all the UK high street and department store websites as I'm a bit wary about buying from abroad because I might have to return them.

I'll be having three bridesmaids, all blonde and quite pale, and they said they're happy to wear a strapless floaty long dress. Ideally I wanted pale pink with a silver detail at the waist/empire line but this isn't as easy to find as I'd hoped.

The OKdress website has beautiful-looking dresses in a range of colours and I thought I'd found 'the' bridesmaid dress but, again, it's from abroad and I don't know that the length would be right as all of the bridesmaids are under 5 foot 4.

Also: two of them live 90 miles away from me (and are planning to lose weight) so even if I got their measurements and had the dresses tailor-made, on this site I'd only have a seven day window to get the dresses up to them to try on etc. I'd just feel more comfortable buying from the high street, even if it means I have to pay a bit more.

I'd rather keep them all in the same colour dress. I'm just aware time is ticking on and some florists have said I should get the bridesmaids dresses sorted first before picking flowers for the bouquets so they can get the handles/flowers to match etc. But I might still want a pale pink handle even if the dresses are brighter.

Another possible plus for a brighter pink is that they might look better next to my white wedding dress (and I could have brighter pink amongst the pale pink flowers in the bouquet).

Thanks for reading and any advice would be much appreciated xx

Your bridesmaids can be any colour of pink . Having lighter colours and darker ones go lovely together . Have you thought about getting them made . Debenhams are good and also bhs for bridesmaid dresses also quiz . X

    Thanks for replying :-)

Yes, I've seen some beautiful dresses on the Debenhams website but they seem to go out of stock pretty quickly - my three bridesmaids are all different dress sizes and they don't always have all of their sizes in stock which is a shame.

It would be nice to have the dresses made but would it prove tricky since two of the bridesmaids aren't local to me? This is all new to me but I guess I shouldn't leave it much longer x

I think it would look nice in a darker/brighter pink, you could always bring a bit more of that colour in other places as well, like you say in your flowers ect.

Our colour scheme was initially pastel green. I couldn't find any bm dresses in this colour so bought some vintage rose pink coloured ones, our flowers are ivory and were going to pick up on all the other pastel country colours. Be creative, it's fun :) x

We are having our bridesmaids in mint & then tying the peach/soft pink in with the flowers, as there was no way my H2B would wear a pink cravet lol.
Could you possibly wait until the new spring ranges are released (i'm not sure when this is, but must be soon) as the 'in' colours this spring are pastel shades, so you should find a pale pink dress easily then.

    Thanks everyone :-)

Yes, I've been on B*S and they do have some beautiful dresses in the colour I'm looking for - but not in the sizes I've need, which is annoying. However, I've asked them to email me if/when the sizes are back in (each bridesmaid is a different dress size). I'm not sure how long that will take.

I think I will bide my time, as you suggested Keirah51. And yes, I think my H2B would rather wear a grey cravet than a pink one! While I've been toying with the idea of a darker pink or a pastel green, I think I would like to have my bridesmaids in pale pink if I can... it's what I always imagined them wearing. That vintage rose colour sounds lovely, LauraY27 x

Do u live near a debenhams? They have 2 different ordering systems in store, they use the same one as u would online, as well as one they can search other stores & then get them sent to u, a while back I wanted a perfume set, worcester didn't have it, so through yantra (their 2nd system) I got one sent from belfast, so it doesn't have to be local? And it's mega day this weekend, so there's discount off, meaning you could get a more expensive dress within your budget? x

Ah right, no, I haven't actually been instore yet but, yes, I do live reasonably close to a BH* and Debenh*ms. I didn't realise that about the ordering systems there... thanks for letting me know :-) . Mega day sounds brilliant - perhaps a trip to the shops will be in order x
