    hi all!!

I have been set on a colour scheme for forever of peacock colours , having 3 bridesmaids ( blue, purple and a green)
my problem is that im trying to get on a budget and keep finding dresses i like in the the 50s style i want, and all three colours, but everytime i show the bridesmaids there's always one who isnt happy.

mostly its the one in the green, i originally wanted a nice peacock/emerald green....she said no, she would want it teal green, so i thought fine as i want her to feel nice, showed her all the ones i like in teal and she was like "ooh no" ...to pretty much all of them.

the only one she seemed ok with i can not get in their sizes.

Question is... do i just get her what one i want and she can just get over it... or do i change my colours to one colour to stop her being fussy and making it harder for me to find the right dresses??

    Help and advice appreciated

I assume you're buying the dresses? Give her a couple more options for her to choose from, failing that, tell her to wear what she's given and suck it up or say she can pick her own dress as a normal guest! I'm all for being fair but sometimes you need to be firm if someone's just being difficult xx

Would swapping the colours round make any difference? Maybe if she has a colour that's easier to find you'll have more chance of finding something that will satisfy her. Plus someone else might wear the green that you want.

I was going to make the same suggestion as Elinor; if she's the fussiest one it might be easier to have her in a colour that's more readily available.

Failing that, could they wear different but similar styles perhaps? Eg they could all be the same length but different in terms of the neckline/cut? (I have 3 BMs wearing floor-length chiffon dresses, 2 have the exact same style but the third has a different one as she's a different shape and didn't suit the other one; it looks fine)

If neither of those is an option then I would just choose for them in all honesty.

    Thanks ladies.

I let them decide which colour they wanted to be in so the option was there from the start. I've looked at a few more styles I like (costing more than I planned) but iv told then all that the majority vote wins and they will have to deal with it.

Fingers crossed that is sorted soon.

Tell her to wear what she is told to. Like you said the colour option was there from the start and if your footing the bill for the dresses then she doesn't really have a say unless it's a valid concern. She seems to be forgetting that being a bridesmaid is a job where she has duties to perform and not just a day to wear a pretty dress. Do not give in.

I think it is pretty rude of her to be honest. My step daughter was similar. I showed her a few options and asked her which one she preferred as my girls liked them all, she came back with an excuse for all, mainly they will make her look flat chested (14 at the time of the wedding). I ended up picking a dress without any of them seeing it until after I ordered it and if they did not like it, hard tough! She still complained on the day she wanted my MOH's dress.

If you're paying you have the final say although I did ensure both my bridesmaids were happy with the choice.
