I’m just looking for a little advice on my wedding predicament and would love to hear what you all think…

I get married in about a year, July 2022.. So last year, I picked my bridesmaids carefully, including my H2B’s cousin’s GF. Let’s call her T. (H2B and his cousin, let’s call him B, are more like brothers than cousins). We would see T&B a lot, hang out with them a lot as couples, and I ended up getting really close to T. They had already been together for years before I even met H2B So I picked her to be one of my bridesmaids with confidence.

Fast forward to Christmas 2020- T and B break up! This was a total shock to us all and we were gutted. I assured T that I would still see her, and we would still hang out all the time. However she moved a little ways out back to her parents and naturally, we have drifted, apart from the odd text.

Now, a few weeks ago we met B’s new GF, let’s call her F. I have to admit I love F. They seem very well suited and happy together, but I feel kinda guilty for getting on with her. I can’t help but wonder what to do now about my wedding. I still love B and I would have classed her as one of my closest friends before they broke up last year. I never thought we would be in this situation.

T&B have not spoken since they broke up and I get the impression there is still a little bitterness there. I really don’t want to make B&F feel uncomfortable at my wedding by having his ex as a bridesmaids. But on the other hand I really don’t want to have that conversation with T and tell her she can’t be a bridesmaid anymore.

H2B thinks T will naturally step down as bridesmaid and we can welcome her to our wedding reception instead. I feel that even though his whole family loved T, they will all agree this is the right thing to do and that she can’t be bridesmaid.

A few months ago I would have insisted that she still be bridesmaid. But now with F in the picture and the fact that we don’t really speak anymore, let alone see each other, I’m not so sure.

    What’s your thoughts?
