Had a message from my bridesmaid last night saying the weekend of our wedding is the weekend of her dad's 60th birthday, so he/the camper van might not be around for us to borrow it. Only wanted it for a few pics anyway so not the end of the world x

We looked into hiring one initially but they are so expensive and to be honest it's not that important to me so would rather spend the money on something else! Looking at at least £500 which seems silly! I'm hoping to stay in our venue the night before with the girls and my mum anyway, but if not, we will stay in a hotel nearby, so won't really need transport anyway. I'm happy just getting a family member to drive us and sticking some ribbons on the car! Lol x

Yeah I really wanted one but the price is silly! Hopefully you can stay in your venue and it will save you a lot of money! Surely they will give the bride a room lol? x

It depends if someone pays for exclusive use on the Friday. If they do obviously we cannot stay as exclusive use includes all the rooms! So if the Friday night is free we will definitely stay there, but if not there are other hotels close by so wouldn't have far to travel at all! x

I've got a deal with my venue that I get to check in early to our lodge on the day of the wedding, so I can get ready there and they even come and collect me and the bridesmaids and take us them me where the wedding is, its literally 1 min from the lodge so we would waste money on having cars to and I can justify it for such a short distance.

Thanks Naomi, im going to view a venue on sunday going to holiday inn in jesmond near where i live, there is a wedding fair on too so kill two birds with one stone. Fingers crossed its not too expensive.
When i went to buy my dress i knew in my head what style i wanted, i fell in love with tea length dresses after watching funny face with audrey hepburn in it. As soon as i tried it on i knew i had to have it, only problem of getting it early its now gone down in price by £200 lol. xx

Afternoon ladies, I just wanted to say a quick hello :)
I am getting married on the 4th June 2016. Some of you ladies have booked so much already i feel like i need to crack on :).
So far we have put a deposit on the Venue, with the Registrar and have also paid for wedding insurance.
So excited, I feel like the day will creep up very quickly :)

Super excited to be going to a wedding fayre at our venue tomorrow. To be honest, we're more going to see what the venue looks like this time of year so we can see what flowers might be up and where would be some lovely photo locations. I'm hoping the bluebell woods will be in bloom as that will be a gorgeous place for photos. X

Been to two wedding fayres now (locally) - first one was really laid back and not in your face and I met with my photographer and chosen the cake and who I want to do my flowers yay! Second one was awful! Really in your face and bore me, h2b and fmil to bits. I'm really put off now so now I'm sticking online haha. Hope everyone is busy getting things for their wedding done! I'm just under a year now - invites have been decided and will be ordered soon once I have the confirmation we can marry in the church!

I know what you mean, the fairs really stress me out but are a means to an end. I try to go over when they are hassling someone else so I can still see the product, then look online later! :)

We aren't going to any more wedding fayres now. I was bored at the last one as we've pretty much booked everything now and I prefer to look online too. I don't want to wish the year away but I'm looking forward to near the end of the year so I can start looking at sorting the bridesmaids dresses. Getting measured for my dress on Tuesday and getting it ordered. Hopefully my headpiece will be in so I can try that on with the dress and veil. So exciting! :)

I went to a wedding fair today, seen some ideas I've never seen before. One person had a stall for wedding crackers (like Xmas crackers) where u can put your own favours inside. Another person done macaroons for favours which i thought would be a good idea to put some into a little box or bag.

Saw a girl I dance with post in a local selling page on FB earlier trying to get rid of her wedding stuff. I'm taking her garter off her.. it's gorgeous and exactly like the ones I've been looking at. Even better, she only wants a tenner for it, and it's brand new with all the original packaging etc. as she never even used it

It was on my list but obviously I wasn't actually planning on getting one just yet.. but would have been rude not to after seeing that one :) not 100% sure if I will even want to wear it as worried about it rubbing against my other leg lol, although might have a nice thigh gap by then, who knows ;) hehe. x

I got my sweetie buffet jars today my friend who got married last year, she's also my bridesmaid was selling hers, I forgot she had a sweetie buffet to be honest, so I said id buy them from her but she wont take any money so I got my jars for free!

That reminds me, one of my bridesmaids came to dance on Friday with a bag of baby food jars for me (for our sweetie jar favours). Her mum is a child minder and she's looking after a baby at the moment so my friend put a note for the parents in his lunch box asking if they could please keep their empty jars as she was collecting them! I have at least 21 now (depending on how many my auntie now has).. only about another 20 or so to go lol! x

The garter is beautiful and goes so well with your shoes. Great on the baby jars as well for favours. We are hoping to do the same but filled with homemade jam. H2b loved the sweetie buffet at his cousins wedding so we might do one too although I think we're just going to use quirky glass bowls from charity shops. Anything free is always a great help. X

LouiseS89 - My favours are the wedding crackers lol. I'm cross stitching names into them so it doubles up as a place card and then have a keyring inside them (New Zealand ones) as I'm from there and we just got back off holiday a few weeks ago lol. Only cost me £30 for 50 and got 5 free pens with them too lol x

Hi FutureMrsPendlebury. Im not actually sure how much the lady was charging but i think its a great idea, i would have never thought about it. Its a good idea that your putting names on them too, killing two birds with one stone. My mam is making my favours, she is making wine glass charms so all i need to get is some love heart sweets and some favour boxes. Mind i dont think our male guest would like wine glass charms so might have to find something a bit more manly haha x

Had a great day today. I found my dress last September and paid a deposit but didn't order at the time as wanted to wait until after Xmas. Went back today and decided to try on 2 different dresses just to be sure and although they were lovely dresses they weren't my dress. Tried my dress on after and I was like yes this is still THE dress :) The lady took my measurements again and compared them to my measurements she took last Sept and I've lost 2 inches from my waist. The fact she could do the dress up most of the way when last time she couldn't told me I must have lost a couple, so pleased. I also ordered my veil and headpiece. While I was there I bought my shoes and garter. So that's me sorted I think. Love getting loads done in one go. Very productive day :)
