We have a good plan worked out and I have everything on excel on my laptop, work PC and on a USB in my bag and everything gets updated as we pay/go along.
OH is on a good wage and mines not too bad so we are saving well, just things niggle at me.
We are paying for everything. No offers or contributions from any family but we are ok with that. It's our decision to marry so we foot the bill. Obviously, if we do get offered some money towards it we wouldn't refuse lol

I'm getting married on the 21st may so one week after you! I have booked church, venue, photographer, videographer, band, cars, cake, hair & make up and have my dress! You should start with the things where they can only do one a day if u no what I mean. Cake, flowers etc could wait a while
The girls are right, get the big things secured and then the little bits you can work round it. People plan weddings with just months to go however to get what you want, I would definitely start getting the ball rolling with the bigger things

I've not really done much recently but my dress bags for the bridesmaids dresses arrived and im going to order us all personalised hangers! Been looking at wedding rings and ive got a sample of invites which ive fell in love with!

Just sat down and done some quick calculations. We will save another £4k at least between now and the end of April 2016 (so we will still have May's pay day to play around with if needed) so will have a total of £7k for everything else that needs to be paid for. This is a minimum figure though so it's likely we will manage to save even more than that.
We've already got enough saved to cover the registrar, harpist, DJ, magician and cake maker plus what I estimate the cost of suits, hair and makeup, all the flower girl stuff, flowers and thank you gifts to be. So to be honest we are in a great position already. Planning to buy all the little bits and bobs from our personal money rather than savings.
I *think* we could afford to book a honeymoon before the wedding. Going to wait to see what Th0m@s c00k have got when theirs come out this week and then try and make a decision.

Danielle - we booked with th0ms0n, they seem to be one of the only places that have released the 2016 dates and they have some really good deals and low deposits!
Marie you are my date twin!! We have pretty much everything booked apart from cars and OH still needs to get a suit! I would get the bigger things booked as soon as possible to guarantee your date then you still have time to sort the little things x

Same as all other ladies have said bigger things are the most important as, venue, register, church, photographer, videographers have a tendency to be booked but in advance! We booked venue back in October then slowly booked everything else the beginning of this year.
We spoke with the parish priest Sunday and he agreed to Marry us, which we are both so happy with as it means so much to us both and it's the only thing OH really wanted wedding wise a Catholic ceramony! We just need to 100% confirm dates and things soon, fingers crossed! Xx

My Dad gave us a cheque for £500 on Saturday (my parents have given us £2000 Already!) so it was a surprise.

Hi, Yippee EmmaP date twin!! I have got my save the dates and invites to match sorted. Just waiting until after this May to send the save the dates. I am itching to send them ! There are so many stationary companies to choose from! I went with one online company and the lady has been really helpful. Sent me a couple designs and mock ups of what I wanted. I would make my own but I am rubbish at making things. How do you know if a photographer is good? Thinking about contacting the venue for ones they recommend. I have not looked at dresses yet. I was waiting until summer. This next year is going to fly by.
