I reckon the groomsmen might offer to pay for their own suits or even contribute, but at the moment we are just going on the premise that we will be covering the costs. OH's mum offered to pay for OH's suit too - but she said the other week she wants to pay for our cake, so I don't know if she will be able to save enough for both. Any help is a bonus though :)

We just asked ours to pay as we knew we probably wouldn't be able to afford it, there is only the best man anyway but it still saves us a bit of money. It's lovely when people offer to pay for things, OH's family keep offering but then dropping out which is annoying! So thankful for my parents!! x

We are so thankful for my gran helping she paid for half my dress!
We are the same paying for everything ourselves, so we are still costing for everything as we would of without any contributions and the help of my gran has been a bonus if we get anything from anyone else we will just add it to the savings xx

That's what we are doing so luckily with people dropping out of helping we should still be ok! Just annoying because we keep thinking it's a weight off and then it's back on lol! x

I can't wait to get to the year mark too. My OH said the same thing the other day Sarah. We were talking about the wedding and the money we need to save and OH said I can't wait for someone to say at the church that the bride is here and he sees me for the first time. He also said he can't wait to see me in my dress and to have a perfect day. Made me cry when he said it lol x

To be honest we are extremely lucky and very blessed with the help we are receiving from our family!
My dad is sorting the photographer (I think he will be getting mates rates as it's one of his photographer friends from the industry) and is going halves on the venue bill with my mum. My mum is paying for my dress. FIL has offered £1000 towards our honeymoon (although if we need it for the day rather than the honeymoon we can use it that way) and MIL has offered to pay for the cake and OH's suit. Saving us a lot of money and stress!!
It's surprising how everything still adds up though x

I had a little chat with the girls over Wh@ts@pp the other day too - we were talking about hair and makeup. I will pay for their hair and makeup if necessary but ideally I want to save money in this area, so would either ask them to contribute or do each other's on the day. Showed them a hairstyle I think I'd like them to have and they've agreed to have a play about and see if they can do it on each other, so that would save us having to pay at all :)

It is lovely that people offer to help :) my parents are amazing, they are paying for half of our venue which is £1000, our cars and have given us a budget of £2500 for our honeymoon and spending money. Without them we wouldn't be getting a honeymoon and we would really struggle to pay the venue! My grandparents have also said that they will be giving us £500 as a wedding present but if we would like it before to pay for something that's fine, which would help a lot :)
OH's uncle (best man) will be paying for the cake which is lovely of him, but his mum and dad have both let us down so far! We are having trouble with FIL at the moment though so we will see if he does give us money! x

That's a lovely idea! It would probably be quite fun them all doing eachother's hair too! My mum is helping out by paying for hers and my sisters hair and make up so I will pay for mine, SIL's and MOH's but I don't mind as my hairdresser doesn't charge too much and I have found a reasonable priced make up artist to do theirs :) x

I was thinking of asking the girls wear or buy there own shoes but I got them and the dresses for each for £75 so I made a great saving there, when it comes to hair and make up I will be paying for it for all of them but I wont be paying the price I pay for my make up as im looking at an expensive make up artist and ill get someone else for them xx

Really takes the pressure off doesn't it :) we knew in the back of our minds our parents would offer to help financially but when we booked it we did so thinking that we would pay for the whoooole thing. To be honest we would never have saved enough on our own so I am very thankful that we are receiving help! Our venue bill on its own is going to be about £6k.
We've actually already paid quite a lot ourselves already and because it has been spread over 10 months we haven't really noticed so much! We've already paid over £2400!
I've not looked too much into hair and make up quotes at the moment but I know there are some good deals out there which I am happy to pay for.. but once you add 4 bridesmaids onto that as well it soon adds up, so if they can do their own hair at least then that would be great! Would get some good shots of them helping each other get ready too :) x

The girls are sorting their own shoes as well I think. I've just said nude shoes.. whatever style, whatever height, just nude! A few of them already have suitable shoes they can wear. Happy to buy pairs for the ones who don't have any but would look for cheap ones lol. I'm getting them jewellery as part of their presents too x

I've said to bridesmaids that we would buy dresses if they could sort their own shoes and make up out. We said we'd include their hair and jewelry in to our budget.

I did make a good saving on bridesmaids dresses anyway so to be honest we probably could afford to pay for their hair and make up but obviously any further savings would be great! I originally budgeted £400 for the dresses (£100 per dress) but all 4 came in at just over £210 in the end! x

We have to pay everything off by May next year. Do you think it's better to pay things off as soon as we have the money so over the next year or wait until the deadline and pay everything off together when we've saved up all the money?

I think if you can afford to pay suppliers off earlier then do so.. for me there is no benefit of holding on to the money (apart from maybe the fact you could earn interest on money kept in an account), but knowing you've paid off certain people way before you need to definitely takes the pressure off and should make everything a lot less stressful! If a supplier is going to rip you off they will do regardless of whether they have your money 6 months or 6 weeks before the wedding day.. x

I agree with Flossie, we are doing the same we will be paying off as we have it as don't want things building up and then the money maybe being used for an emergency etc id rather get it paid so its done and dusted xx
