Feels so strange still to say we are getting married. I'd never in a million years did I think id be marrying my OH after all these years of knowing him. He's known my dad 20+ years and I first met him when I was 16. I'm 27 next
OH just gave me £100 to pay off bridesmaids dresses as I had to put them on credit card, hopefully get them paid off in new few weeks

Oh the catering assistant emailed me back last night after my grouchy email on Friday..... She has promised I will have the quote by the end of today!! I hope so. I'm at the florist on Saturday so I will have accurate costs for that too and that's it until after Xmas.....can't do much more x

Lol that is the only up side to being ill. That looks gorgeous. Are you having your ceremony there aswell or in a church? We are getting married in a resort in Ballymena (Northern Ireland). OH isn't very religious so we compromised, we are having a religious ceremony but at the venue.

I had always wanted to get married in a church and OH said he would do it for me, but I felt unfair cause its not just my day. Anyways when we visited we thought their ceremony room was beautiful and our minister is happy to come there to marry us, so win win really. This is where you get married, then move over to the main building for the reception.

My oh wasn't bothered that I wanted to get married in church as he always used to go to church and he didn't complain at the church I chose either which I thought he might have as its outside our parish but it's near where my step dad grew up and it's a beautiful one out in the country

Thats good Becci, sounds perfect. My OH has not been brought up going to church at all, infact he's not christened. We had our son christened in my family church which is where we would have got married. He would have got married there for me but I feel much happier with our compromise :) x

Hi ladies, I haven't posted anything in a while but I have been popping in and out to see how everyone is doing. Our wedding plans are still coming along nicely and everything is now booked with deposits paid. We were finally able to give notice of marriage following the horrible man that laughed at me when I originally tried and he said it was too far in advance (even though it was less than a year as stipulated) so that's all sorted now. Got to go back to my dress shop a week on Friday to have my final measurements taken for my dress to be ordered which I am dreading sadly. I wanted to wait and lose more weight but unfortunately that hasn't happened as I had an operation and not been able to diet properly so I feel a bit silly now. Just need to check that the dress can be take in once it arrives as I am determined to be slimmer :)

I'm sure once it arrives if you've lost weight they'll be able to take it in :) mines two sizes too big as it stands and they said it won't be a problem to take in its just if it needs taking out

My friend got married in the summer and she just kept losing weight (I think it was stress) she must have had it taken in about 5 times, including 2 weeks before the wedding, so I wouldn't worry too much nicola. Don't be too hard on yourself, you've had a lot on xx

If you've not been fit enough to loose weight and you've had an op don't beat yourself up! These things happen ... I'm mad that I got up to peak fitness and now can't do anything because of injuries from a car crash meaning everything I'd worked on I've lost ... I was mad for weeks then realised that wouldn't solve anything and just try to do things gradually now

Beautiful dress Stacey :-) I did like the princess style ones, but decided against one like that as I am only 5ft and whilst the top half felt lovely and fitted, I just felt lost with all of the layers and felt it made me look shorter than I really was!!
Flossie & Leanne - Lovely venues :-) I love the name Phantom House - sounds like it's jumped straight off the pages from a story book.
Here's our venue - we're gettng married in a church, but having our reception here.

Hi Leanne - no, they don't look silly on. I just personally felt that was too much material, although I did try on a satin princess one at the National Wedding Show and if it hadn't been that the shop was in Essex I probably would have brought it then and there as there wasn't so much fabric and I fell in love with it and didn't want to take it off. Try one on and see how you feel - you never know,you may end up with the opposite! :-)

Yep, I thought plain vintage lace A-line with an illusion back. I've ended up with a fit and flare with a V back, which was not something I ever would have thought I'd end up with as when looking online I skipped all the dresses that had that style of back!

I have a fit and flare dress too with a full lace back.. my only concern at the moment is making sure my boobies are secure in it. Will be having cups sewn into the dress as will not be able to wear a bra with the full lace back... and I don't have small boobies! xx
