Thinking about it now we probably don't need our magician for 4 hours and should have probably tried to make a deal with him for a lesser amount of time.. but oh well. This was right at the start of our wedding planning and I think we were both a bit too excited!! I may drop him an email closer to the time and see if we can reduce it to maybe 2/3 hours and knock a bit off the price xx

Is anyone deciding to write their own vows? OH and I spoke about it last night and agreed that we would write our own and keep them a secret from each other until the day, so excited about it but I know I will be a blubbering mess with the words sprung upon me not knowing what to expect!!! I've been writing mine for a while now, just trying to tidy them up now. This is what makes it seem all so real!! xx

I think so too Flossie!
We wont be writing our own vows, H2B is already nervous about saying the vows we agree with the registrar I wouldn't like him to have the added pressure lol
At my mums wedding 2 weeks ago they did a hand tying as part of the ceremony too, it was actually really nice and I might consider it and its where the saying tie the knot comes from its and its an old Scottish tradition xx
We read through our wedding pack last night and pretty much decided on our options. I like the really wordy and traditional options but as OH is dyslexic I know he worries about things like that, put him in front of 50 people and it makes it ten times worse... but he said he will go with whatever I want, which I am really pleased about!!
He is good at writing words though so I know he will enjoy writing his own vows.
That would be really lovely Sarah xx

Did anyone watch Coro wedding the other night when Tim stuck his tongue out to Sally and she was laughing?
I told OH not to make me laugh when we say our vows and he said everyone will be expecting him to do something silly as he's always been the joker. Dreading that part now lol

I'm not sure if we can write our own vows with us getting married in church .. Oh would probably want to but I'd prefer not too.
I'd be too emotional on the day to do it too

Don't think we can write our own. We have the choice for the priest to read them out and do us to say I do or for us to repeat them to each other after the priest so we will def be saying them.
I just ordered the bridesmaids dresses!!

Yes I did but we have an appointment with a bridal store tomorrow so going to go anyway and I think I'll know for 100% then what I want lol can always return the M0ns00n ones if needs be but don't think I'll have to. I had such a handling ordering them. The sizes weren't available online so had to go through home delivery. I had to ring lots of stores and finally got them in a store in Liverpool (im in NI) so because I ordered through home delivery I didn't get the discount I had plus I had to pay delivery. If i ordered online last week I would have saved almost £40! Oh well :( I did get the equivalent of £20 on my reward card though so can get some accessories

Hi ladies. Just found our reception venue! It's a micro estate with huge marquee, 4 bed cottage, fire pit area and children's play area. Hidden in the woods at the back of a working horse farm on the edge of a harbour. It was amazing! You literally hire the whole estate for less than a standard marquee hire. The guy who owns it was amazing. Such a lovely man. Just negotiating on deposit etc now. So scary! Absolutely fallen in love with the place. I could easily live there. Feels so real now!

Took my BMs dress shopping at the bridal shop my dress is at. They had lots of fun trying on dresses and have both decided on one they like which is one of my favourites so we are all happy. Have paid a deposit and got them ordered. So happy that the dresses have been sorted. I'm paying for their hair and make up but they are buying their own shoes x

Fab news Katie!
I am now umm-ing and ahh-ing over a videographer... keep seeing so many lovely wedding videos and it makes me wish we can have one of our wedding!! Done a little research and the cheapest I have found at the moment is £699 for a fully comprehensive package from getting ready up to the first dance, which includes 3 DVDs and a 'highlights video' that can be shared on social media etc. I am really not sure what to doooo....
As my dad is a photographer I might ask him if he happens to know any videographers who may want to offer "mates rates". I could be persuaded with a good price!

My sensible head is just telling me not to commit to such a large of bulk of money particularly when we've got quite enough to be paying off, but my heart is saying do it. What's £700 for something that we'll be able to keep and cherish and look back on for the rest of our lives?! We're currently on track to save more than what we need also so we should be able to afford it!
I think I'll have a discussion with OH about it and see how he feels xx

We are saving on the photographer costs as my dad is paying for that so maybe we can make room for a videographer... it was never important to me until I started seeing all these wedding videos on FB!!! I think the £699 is quite a good deal too for the whole day, I probably wouldn't go any higher than that xx

Yeah I actually did think you would come round to the idea I just had that feeling lol I think 699 is a good price too ours is 780 for whole day from bridal prep to 3rd dance, sure its 10 dvd copies and the high lights video! he uses music we pick and edits it in and he does a section where guests can leave messages too! defo its a good choice to have one you wont regret it, your only gonna do this day once so keep the memories forever xx

I've just finished a mock table plan so I know numbers for when I see the chair cover lady next week. At the minute we are at 66 day guests with 9 tables but to make the tables even I need 6 more day guests so will ask OH tonight if he'd like anyone else to come.

I am warming to the idea very much, it's just the price tag that scares me!!! Haha. But in the grand scheme of things it's nothing to have those memories for the rest of our lives... you're right, it's one day that is not going to happen again!
I've asked this guy if he has availability on our wedding date, see what he says and take it from there. His reviews on FB are fab!!!! Surprised his price is so low as many I've seen around this area are around the £1200 mark for the same thing! xx

CommentAuthorKatieH
Flossie we are paying £699 for one too. It may be the same one you've been looking at. We are so glad that we have booked one as we didn't think we could have one due to the budget but we are on track to save more too with the help from my tips so we went ahead with it xx

Anyone I've spoke to who hasn't had a video says they regret it and anyone who has said they watch it more than they look at their album. I wasn't sure either and that convinced me. Will be lovely for my little boy to watch it as he won't remember the wedding probably
