I was hoping I'd feel better today but nope. From day one I suggested either going away or having a small family wedding but OH didn't want to. Then I got my head around the idea of the wedding we are having and got really excited. Now that I've seen the stress it's caused, the arguments and the money I honestly wish we had of went away just the 3 of us

Sounds like you had an amazing time on your hen Flossie. Your girls definitely did you proud.

Sorry you're feeling down Danielle. It's a shame people have declined but it is their loss as they will miss out on your special day. X

Emm - I am not too stressed, but do worry about the financial side of things. I am really short of money this month and have just been hit with a huge electricity bill, have paid for OH's ring and still have my veil to pay for this weekend. Having said all of that, I am also excited too and I think it's natural to be stressing. My future MIL even said to me at the weekend that the week running up the wedding all kinds of doubts will be creeping in, but that's normal too!!

Well I did something stupid today. My new bank card arrived with my married name on and I went and signed it with my maiden name signature. FFS! Now going to have to go to the bank again this weekend and explain rather embarassingly. Hope they just send a new one out again. Suggest practicing those signatures ladies!!! X

We sent ours out in March and the dealing is 31st May.... Numbers need finalising with the venue by 30th June so I have a month to chase people!

My nannas RSVP came back yesterday with a little note. She's not attending as she says she's too doddery on her feet and just can't get about nowadays.... I'm gutted though I do understand

Sarah - I think from memory we sent our invitatations out the first or second week of March and asked for all replies back by Saturday 9th April.

Kirsty - that did make me laugh!!! Hope you get is sorted. I've been practising mine, but least we now have chip and pin and dont have to sign at the end of every transaction in the shops.

Emm - sorry to hear about your Nan being unable to attend.

We asked for RSVPs back 2 months before. Our venue doesn't need final numbers until 2 weeks before, but as we sent invitations out in January, people had 3 months to RSVP which was more than long enough!!

2 of my bridesmaids had their first alterations appointment last night - it's cheaper than I had imagined! They are both being taken in at the sides, the lace on the shoulders is being tightened and they are having bra loops put into the back of the dress, plus one of the dresses is being taken up, all for £55.. was pleasantly surprised as I had estimated a lot more.

Think I'm going to go and get my rings done this weekend. Need my engagement ring cleaned and made slightly bigger and my wedding ring made smaller. Will be so weird not being able to wear my engagement ring whilst it's done though - but it needs doing!!

What time is everyone's OH getting to the venue on the day?? We're getting married at 2pm so I think he needs to be there by 1pm at the very latest so he's there to greet our guests. I've asked the VW camper to pick him, his dad and his brother up at 12 so they should actually be there by 12.45... Does everyone think this sounds ok?

I've not worn my engagement ring for a good 2 months now! I had a bespoke band made to fit and we asked them to clean the ring too. It's come up some shiny and looks better than new that OH and I said I wouldn't wear it now until the big day!!!

My friend's wife who is a seamstress has done my sister's dress - should be ready soon :-)

We paid our car balance off last night and are now debating over cake flavours we've each chosen one each, but it's 3 tiers so the 3rd one is up for grabs. I've chosen strawberry and white chocolate and OH wants Citrus sponge with passionfruit Our choices are:

    Victoria sponge
    Lemon
    Chocolate
    Cookies & cream
    Citrus sponge with Passionfruit curd
    Salted caramel
    Strawberry & white chocolate
Coffee & walnut with Bailey's or coffee buttercream
    Rich fruit

Flossie I've been without my engagement ring since Friday as its getting made smaller and cleaned/replated. Feels weird should get it back either Saturday or Monday but think I'll leave it off until the few days running up to wedding.

Lindsey id prob go for plain sponge for the 3rd or lemon

I'm going to see my parents today, going to go into the shopping centre and look for gifts for bridesmaids. I want to get them a nice piece of jewellery

Nearly finished my OH's box for the morning - so far have put in a book from 1913 called Don'ts for Husbands, a t-shirt that says under new management, socks - cold feet, groom boxers, a little bottle of gin (all he drinks), need to find a cigar (for the PM - he likes a cigar only at weddings!) some sweets - has a sweet tooth. Can't put in cufflinks as he has lots and hardly wears them and he is wearing the ones I got him for Christmas.

Also finalised the childrens bags. Found a great website and have ordered fabric dinosaurs bags for the boys and princess ones for the girls - have filled them with sweets, sticker books, bubbles, soft toy, colour in your own princess crown / pirate hat and some other bits - cant remember what until it all arrives!!!

    That's awesome Flossie.

I took my ring in to be cleaned an re-coated and it took 2 weeks. We also took OH wedding ring in at the same time to be re-sized. I am wearing a fake ring at the mo because I don't want to wear my real one until the wedding day as it looks so new and sparkly.

The alterations on my dress were cheap too, £20 for both sides to be taken in and £15 for the hem. Really impressed.

We sent our invites out in January and asked for rsvp's by 1st April.

    That's lovely.

Been shopping today and got bridesmaids each a lovely necklace. Going to order some glitter glasses too.

I've been thinking today and think distance may have been an issue for a lot of people not going to our wedding. I wish now we had of put on a bus. I'm feeling really stressed that people may skip the church if they are arranging lifts or else leave the wedding early. Really wish we had of put one on but it was an added expense

I'm off to an evening wedding reception tonight. It'll be interesting just to experience the whole wedding vibe! I just hope I don't start comparing and realise that I've forgotten to do things! On another note, what to wear! I was thinking a dress and heels as jeans and nice top might be too casual - just don't want to feel overdressed given that we're not there for the whole day.

When we went to an evening reception last year it was really weird thinking that it'd be our turn next!!! I found myself judging on quite a lot of things too thinking that's not the way I would have done it... Lol. I would definitely go for the dress and heels - you won't look overdressed, everyone else will be wearing the same sort of thing! :-)

Hi lovely - I suspect it will be very different. I am guessing her dress will be pink and ballgown, but I may be completely wrong and it could end up being quite similar. Ironically the venue was where we considered and I actually preferred it to where we have - the reception room is very art deco - but there were no available dates on a Saturday hence we choose the venue we have.

Thanks - I did buy a little dress from 0a515 the other week - they do petite now!! I think I'll wear that.

Have fun tonight Lindsey - try and enjoy lol.

My panic appears to have been sorted now. I got everything out of our spare room and got stuff sorted. Filled all favour boxes, tied them with the ribbons, sectioned them to their individual tables and boxed them up and labelled them ready to hand to the venue. Did the same with the children's activity packs. Wrapped all the bridal party gifts and got them into their gift bags so they're all ready now. Feel much more organised and now starting to feel excited again :)

So much to catch up on here!

Your engagement photos look fab Emma and your hen looked amazing Flossie, glad you had a good time. Mine was fab, such a relaxing day and none stop laughing!

I was going to put my engagement ring in for cleaning about a month before but I ended up getting a new bridal set so a new engagement ring haha!

A week to go for us and everything is pretty much sorted, getting my hair cut and dyed today and then just sorting out all the bits and pieces next week. Had a nightmare with my dress though, I went for another fitting with a different seamstress just to check it still fits whilst MOH had hers and the seamstress noticed that the first one (who was in a wedding dress shop) had done a really bad job. Instead of taking the beads off the top and taking the material off she has just folded the sides over and hand stitched it together! There were pins left in and she has also just tucked the skirt in, so much more is wrong with it too I can't believe it! She charged me £100 for the alterations so I am going with the new seamstress to the shop tomorrow to demand my money back! Luckily the new one said she can fix it and will be able to get it done for Wednesday but getting so stressed about it!

So after the jewellers responding to my email yesterday saying I could bring my rings in and they should be done the same day, I've now received a reply from another member of staff saying unfortunately they won't have a jeweller in tomorrow so I will need to bring them in during the week. 1). What kind of jewellers does not have an actual jeweller in the store?! 2). Surely Saturday is one of their busiest days - so wouldn't it make sense to have a jeweller available?

I might take them to a different independent jewellers, not getting a good vibe from this one.
