I'll be luck if I get a honeymoon, the oh is not really into holidays :(

I'm booking a couple of days somewhere in this country (probably the Lake District) for after the wedding if he likes it or not as I'm guessing we'll need to chill!

    Thanks Sarah xx

Eeek! We booked our honeymoon today! So excited! My dad is lending us £1000 towards it and we have to pay the rest. We are asking for money via a poem in our invites so we can use it to pay my dad back. Seeing what the total came to I'm a bit scared but I'm sure we can get the money together aswell as the wedding money. Certain repayments on things from the past are coming to an end so we will just keep saving that money instead. Can't believe it's finally booked! xx

We are. We kept changing our minds on resorts lol. This is the 3rd one we chose. The first too were adults only but the 1st one was way too expensive and the second one just didn't have that special quality about it jumping out at me. Finally saw this one and it ticked all the boxes, even if it's not adults only, I think we are getting more for our money with this one. xx

Great news Katie, must be really exciting!

We are hoping for the Maldives although not sure... it's always been my dream honeymoon destination although I have already been there twice (very lucky). It's something I would love to share with OH though. We'd like to go fairly quickly after the wedding which is 'wet season' there, but the two times I've been were during wet season and it was beautiful. And to be honest, all the sorts of places we would consider would also be in 'wet season'/off peak xx

Wed looked at the Maldives but it was going to be too expensive, also OH went there for his first honeymoon so we decided on Mexico. I think I would be too bored in the Maldives and OH get sea sick on boats so we wouldn't be able to do any boat trip excursions xx

That's the trouble, it can get very expensive once you've added on all the honeymoon 'perks'! We would consider Mexico too - OH has been there once with his ex though which kind of puts me off hahah - even though we wouldn't go to the same hotel! Will just have to wait and see how it pans out - maybe we will be able to get a really good deal if we book a last minute honeymoon xx

Mrswade we are thinking that too. Or else go somewhere ourselves a few days and then take him somewhere for a few days. One of them would be somewhere close to home where we could drive to. We took LO to Portugal last year when he was 8 months. It was the best holiday we ever had he was a little angel. He would be a handful to take abroad this year lol

Been looking at honeymoons with OH today as noticed some summer 2016 were out.. looked at Th0ms0ns and I was really surprised to see they actually have some really good deals!! We were looking at either Mexico or Jamaica but I think we're both fancying Jamaica... found some really nice 4 and 5 star all inclusive hotels for around £2300-£3000 (for 10 days) which I think is superb. Might actually think about booking a honeymoon rather than waiting until after the wedding now... it's a £500 deposit which we would be able to cover, FIL wants to give us £1k depending on whether he can save it in time, and we could just ask for monetary gifts before the wedding rather than after to cover the rest....??? Little bit cheeky but that's what the money would go towards anyway.

Th0m@s Cook's are out at the end of this month so will have to have a look at theirs as well.

I just don't know what to do. I'm a bit thrown now I've seen we can get a fairly good price.. is it better to wait until after the wedding until we have all the money and know the exact budget we're working with?? Or should we take advantage of a great price now knowing we definitely have something booked and something to look forward to? It would also be easier booking off time work if we booked it now (lots of notice), we would have already paid £500 towards it (deposit) and we know we will be going really soon after the wedding which is what we ideally wanted. If we wait until after the wedding we might have to wait a couple of months....

But then I don't want to put too much pressure on ourselves financially either as it would need paying off around the same time that everything else needs paying off for the wedding...

    ?!?!

It is a lot of a money. I'm a massive worrier too and am always worrying about money! We've never really struggled though and everything always works out but there is just something in my brain that does not turn off!!

It is scary seeing how much money you need to save. It's the most money we would have ever spent on anything. We are so lucky in that our families are being amazing but we're still under pressure to pay for lots of other stuff x

That's the reason we haven't thought about paying a deposit on something when our dates are released! Don't want to be stressing over money for the honeymoon when we have all other things to pay think we will wait until after the wedding to book or if we're in a good position before the wedding then can get something booked before hand xx

Emmilou your oh sounds exactly like mines. If I stress he's like don't worry it will be paid. But we don't earn a lot of money so it is a worry. I only went back to work part time after having my LO. I've not been offered a permanent job in the nhs and will take another drop in money (part time) which I'm stressing about and oh is like whatever makes you happy. Lol. Wish I could be as laid back. But if worst comes to worst we can get a small loan. My dad has offered us some money which we can pay back at our leisure so that takes the pressure off a bit.
