Went to see one of my bridesmaids for lunch yesterday. She was telling me about her Mum being poorly and they aren't sure what's wrong with her yet. She has set up a crafting room at her house to make herself feel better and my bridesmaid goes over every Tuesday for a crafting afternoon, then my brain starts ticking... maybe a project is what she needs! She is now hand-making all my wedding stationary! Hahaha. Told her she can have free artistic reign as I really don't give a hoot what they look like. Would like my colours to be included though. She is so chuffed! Have invited her to the wedding too so she can see her daughter and 2 grand daughters all dressed up.

OH and I went and paid the deposit today for our matching wedding fingers tattoos, which we are having on Monday! So excited!! We're having a red heart with an arrow through and the other persons initial in the heart.

So... I want to start buying in some little, not too expensive, bits for the wedding. I can't think what though. Any suggestions?

Lovely tiara Emmilou.

So I had my hair trial today because I didn't want to book someone and have it a few weeks before, hate it and have to find someone new. The lady was lovely and I really like what she did - a kind of low bun, neat on the bottom by the nape of the neck because she says it will hold in better if people are hugging me, and then curly on the top if that makes sense.
When I came out the salon I called MIL to see if she was in and went to try my dress on with my hair. Felt like a proper bride!
Then went to the pharmacy, forgetting I was still wearing my tiara - I was wondering why I got so many weird looks! What a muppet! X

I'm over the moon.... My tiara has come today. Excellent!! Only ordered it yesterday

It's really beautiful too and great quality! £11.49 blooming bargain

Been to the florist too and i feel a bit deflated. Don't know why cos the stuff is beautiful and what I'm having is excellent but I thought I'd be more excited lol....oh well

So,

All fresh flowers, Ivory roses with a splash of lilac something or other....

Im happy with that as my max budget was £300 so I'm a tad under. Delivering to my venue at 11am on the day and next year she is making me a mock up of my bouquet

I don't really know what I was expecting to be honest..... I love a nice bunch of flowers but they were not a priority for the wedding. I'm sure when I see the mock up, I'll be more enthusiastic.

When I went to see my florist she did a mock brides bouquet and bridesmaid just to get a contrast of colours etc, then gave us a price for them per bouquet, buttonhole etc x

Can't wait to have a trial with my hair/makeup and get to see the tiara and veil in.

My friend who got married in September gave me her veil as obviously she had only wore it once and so donated it as something borrowed..... It's not 100% what I would have chosen but it's such a lovely gesture, I will wear it x

It's never too soon...... 14 months will fly by.

I know when we got engaged and booked out venue we had about 22 months to go.... We now have 9!!!!

Even if it's small bottom draw items I would definitely advise starting early.

I see you got engaged in July.... What have you got done so far if you don't mind me asking??

We've done quite alot really. As we are getting married NYE our venue said we had to take a package wedding so they gave us a selection of suppliers, we picked who we wanted and they booked them, so they have sorted the band/dj, cake and florist. We didn't like any of their photographers so we booked our own, same with the cars (wasn't that we didn't like the cars we just got them cheaper else where lol). We have also booked our videographer, harpist, minister, men's suits, photo booth and caricaturist. So not doing too bad. How is your planning going? x

Oh wow... Yeah you have got a lot done but like you say, it's NYE so I guess you have too. Exciting.

Yeah we are pretty much done now, just suits, bridesmaid dresses, rings which we will do after Xmas and then to finish paying off.

Dancefloor

Dress,tiara,shoes,hoop

We wanted to get most paid up by the year mark and then chip away at the other bits

Just had a quick look on the bay and you can get cathedral length (3m) veils for like £20 in the bridal shops rheyre well in excess of £100 .. Don't know whether it's worth risking the quality ..!

You are doing really well, espesh paying stuff off. You reminded me we have a dance floor booked too. We have been really lucky my Dad has a friend that runs a wedding supplies company, he's giving us the LED dance floor, photo booth and choc fountain as a wedding gift, so thats saving quite a bit of money.

I had a little peak at your dress, its stunning. Did you try on many? x

Oh wow... That has saved you a fair bit.... Our LED Dancefloor was £450 and photobooth £400 so a great saving for you!!

Thank you. I tried a fair few dresses......Maybe 6-7 and the one I chose I turned my nose up cos I didn't want princess type dress. Just wanted plain and simple. Tried it, loved it so bought it..... No regrets whatsoever. It's an ex sample type place so a great price of £600.

I bought a veil of the bay for £8.... It looked beautiful. From China.

It arrived but unfortunately it looked and felt cheap.... I was disappointed but I didn't mind losing £8. It was worth the gamble

The last thing you want is for the veil to be too heavy and detracting from the dress .. Good idea using it for your hen!
