Ahhhh thats good Michelle. I am plesaed it was successful....

I get carried away with the room decor and like you, i would book everything lol....

Ive changed my mind again on centre pieces and may need another 1 as we have had an increase in numbers requiring an extra table! OH doesnt realise the logistics behind his statement 'Yes you can come to te wedding, no problem'.... Grrrrr

Fingers crossed she quotes a decent price

Oh my oh parents are doing that!

We seem to be getting invites to go to meals and parties with people we've never even hardly met now that the wedding is known about then his mum is like oh well they've definitely invited you so you'll have to invite them to the wedding - I'll pay the extra for them anyway ... Arghh!

It's not just price I don't want to be in a room of strangers we'll have enough people to have to go and mingle with never mind randomers!

Yeah i agree...... OH has a large family anyway - 70 guests are his and the rest mine (36). But i have to give him a gentle nudge to say stop inviting folk lol....

Funnily enough, it was my mum that said ooooh are you inviting such and such? and so and so? im like ermmm, No. I see them once a year and we barely talk then?!

    Weddings ey?!

To answer an earlier query, yes we will be sending an official invite to parents as it will have the menu choices with it.

On another note, who are you sending the invites from - from the bride's parents or from the bride and groom?

We are sending the invites from us as we are paying for the wedding..... We both have divorced parents who have re married so it would be chaos sending them from everyone. I wouldnt want to to miss out my step parents as they have done so much for me.

    We're wording ours:

Lauren & James, together with their parents, would like to invite.....

Both our parents are contributing, although mine a lot more than OH's (not because they won't, more because they can't), and both sets of our parents are divorced and re-married/re-partnered, so this seemed like the easiest option so as not to exclude anyone.

I also just like the tradition of it :)

Thank - think we'll go for the Lindsey & Paul, together with their parents for the invites then. Both sets are contributing, but we'll also be collating the invites.

Just had a quote back from the chair cover lady £305 for 72 chair covers and sashes, 11 table cloths, and 9 table runners. We get a free post box hire too. Do you think this is reasonable?

We have to pay a £52 security deposit for damages etc so should get that back. She sets it all up and comes the next day to take it all away again

I think that sounds reasonable. Our venue are providing ours and the quote is £225 for 50 chair covers and sashes. So to get the table cloths, runners and the post box included along with 72 chair covers and sashes I think is quite reasonable.

I think you could find cheaper though, as lots of people seemed to have found cheaper than me.... xx

On the subject of the invites for the people who are having no kids in the day are you mentioning you can't invite children at all on the invite?

We are just having close family kids in the day but are inviting family and friends kids to the evening reception so the kids will be recieving a separate evening invite. Would that be enough do you think? Most do know kids are just invited to the night but there are still a few family members who dont and I was wondering whether I neeeded to spell it out on the invite or whether an evening invite with their childs name on was enough? Xx

We just made sure we made that clear on our save the date cards, but to be honest most of our friends are glad no children as means they get a bit of a break and guessed that we were inviting their kids! The only children we're having is close family, so about all 5 altogether.

Our chair covers are £1 each including sash, so we are £70, this was the cheapest quote I found and the lady came very highly recommended too and this also included del and set up. Our venue provides the table cloths and runners so we don't need to worry about that and were doing a diy post box xx

Can't help with the quote Mrs Wade as ours all comes part of our package we have with the venue - beginning to think we've got quite a good deal as have no hidden extras as they even do the table seating plan and name places too.

Just found this on the bay - thinking of hiring it as we are asking for honeymoon contributions for gifts - will be worded differently!!!

You can do that honeymoon contribution thing online Lindsey to save having lots of cash at the venue .. I haven't looked for any providers on the Internet but know a friend recently did it. You basically just load on contributions of various amounts for example I'd love to swim with dolphins and can do a full day 9-5 in the life of a dolphin trainer for £150 so mum suggested putting that on as

    Dolphin trainer experience x3 £50

So that people only have to contribute partially towards it with the £50 meaning that gives the opportunity for three people to all contribute for that.

They also choose what they want to contribute towards so for the thank you cards you can take a photo of you and oh enjoying the thing that they contributed towards :)

Got to admit I'm not into the whole sexy thing! Oh even moaned the other day that it's been nearly a year since we were last "intimate" as he put it.. I just don't flaming want to whenever he tries it on but then he goes in a big mood gr.. People say it's probably just my pill but I was assaulted a few years back now so it's probably more the unpleasant memories of that making me not interested!

Anyway he's waited a year now so he can wait nearly another one til the night of our wedding lol

Michelle, part of my bad nights sleep was down to worrying about the wedding:

    1) Will the MUA get everyone done in time?
    2) What if im walking down the aisle and twist my ankle (If its outside)?
    3) What if my or OH parents start arguing?
    4) What if OHs ex turns up at that bit where the registrar says, Does anybody know of any reason why these people shuld not marry' or whatever they say and screams her head off!!!

Im not a control freak but these things im worrying about are out of my control if that makes sense?!

Mine isnt so much of how are we gonna pay for it, but more more of 'OMG, im getting married in just over 9 months'!!! That is not long at all and it scares the beegeezus out of me lol

He's fairly understanding about it .. He knows all about it because he's the one who picked me up at silly o'clock in the morning to take me to the walk in centre but don't think he quite realises that's why I just ain't into it! Don't really fancy having that conversation with him either as it makes me uncomfortable. Might just tell him that Im operating a sex ban until our wedding night to keep him excited and see how that goes down .. Probably like a lead balloon but hey ho
