    Thank you ladies.

Messaged lots of car companies for quotes last night. Had one reply already. Quite reasonable. They be 12 of us needing transport to the church and 13 back to reception venue.

Rudely awoken this morning by a dream that on our big day our bridal car gets a flat so has to drive around with a space spaver spare on! Then ... The cars and vintage guest bus took everyone to the reception first before the church for a blessing then had to go back to the church to be wed and then back to the recption again! Too early to be having silly dreams Like that!

I do love this example which we might get away with with it being purple .. I've made two proper appointments with florists so hopefully they'll be able to help more then!

Just hoping the florists will say that they will complement the bridesmaid dresses. I only want my bouquet to be bright then the bridesmaids cream and pale baby pink colour to contrast their dresses.

Oh wants gerblars for his button holes! Random but at least he's made a decision

Gorgeous colour Becci. I think the purple compliments it beautifully.

So pleased the dresses are as beautiful as you hoped Danielle!

We have found our DJ! Such a lovely man. We specifically wanted someone that knew about Northern Soul music as that is what we love, but could also play a mixture of things to suit everybody. He kept OH on the phone for ages. Even played him some Northern Soul down the phone! I was cracking up. Clearly a very passionate man when it comes to music.

Am going to concentrate on stationary now I think. We know what/who we want for most things so it is just a case of paying deposits. Stationary however, I have no clue other than I want to make it myself. Received my scoring board this morning so getting on it.

We originally were going cadburys purple! Went dresses shopping three times then when we went to order them that rose dress was new in so I told them to try it see if it was nicer and it was.. So got oh to come tk see how set on purple we were as we really liked the rose colour too and he was like well I thogvht we chose the dresses and decided purple. Anyway made him come to the shop to see them in flesh and he hated the purple even though he wanted it! Men!

Yea glad they're nice Danielle .. Nice enough to put the bridal shop ones to the back of your mind?

Sounds like you've found yourself a good dj! We are fairly easy to please music wise we just like the dance chart music so basically want a bigger summer disco with party anthems from the years thrown in .. Can't beat a bit of Saturday night etc!!

Yes I think so anyway. They are totally opposite styles and I'm nearly sure I prefer this one. Plus the colour is so perfect. Can't wait to see them on the girls now.

For my flowers I was peony roses mixed with different flowers and peony roses mixed with gyp for the bridesmaids. Is it just me or did u not know the names of a lot of flowers until you started wedding planning? Haha

I originally was going to go pastel I think .. So I don't know what happened.. Don't get much less pastel than my colour if we tried!!

Our venue is covered in ivy all year round in the front and it's a wonderful red at the moment so will be for our wedding .. Very pretty <3

My bms keep saying how excited they are and asking me if I am yet and mums like oh she's not the type to get excited yet I'm the one trying to sort everything and start doing some diy stuff now and getting told by mum I don't need to worry yet. Finally convinced her I should start ordering a few bits so I've ordered a personalised champagne flute for one of my bms.. I want to get all of them the same but mum said I should only get one to see what they're like first. Gr.

Still need to convince her about the dogs. She's telling me we'll have to put them in kennels!

I see our dogs as a BIG part of the family and I refuse to put my dogs in kennels on the day of our wedding!!!! She's really arsey about it; I don't want them involved in the day as such but our venue allows dogs in the downstairs accomodation and by the sounds of it lots of people want rooms so the downstairs rooms will be bought so I said last night we can just pop them in there and we'll walk them every now and then because our venue is out in the country and has a huge field out the back. We have ample opportunity to walk them both during the canapé time for a few minutes and then hopefully get a few photos with them too and also in the break between wedding breakfast and evening reception but she's still he'll bent on not having them there! Me and oh both feel MISERABLE at the prospect of not having our dogs there - they're as good as kids to us- I find it very selfish of mum not wanting them there - she thinks we expect her to walk them or something but we've already told her that me and Simon will do it! I'll just change out of my dress to take them I don't mind as long as they're there. I'm sure this is going to cause a massive argument that she expects to win.

I think we're going to have a guest list LadyC ... It's bad enough Christmas and birthdays getting presents that you think where can I put this or will I ever use it .. I think I might do one where you just put monetary contributions towards different things I.e £50 towards dolphin encounter etc so that they can play a part in us getting the most out of the honeymoon :)

Hi Everyone, sounds like everyones planning is going well. I was bridesmaid at my cousins wedding last weekend and have been on nights so just catching up with you all now. I was intrigued about this thread you's have spoke of but can't find it.

When I was at home (Belfast) for my cousins wedding we met with our minister, he's so lovely and put OH mind at rest, as he isn't overly religious. We are doing the traditional vows, reading through them all made me feel really emotional. I love the idea of writing them yourself but OH is a man of few words lol. Finally got insurance aswell so thats another load of my mind.

Flossie and Beckie I had been looking at personalised sweet jars for our favours but it was so expensive, I never thought of making them myself. Can I ask where you got the jars/sweets? xx

We're having 2 readings too! Also, walking down the aisle to 'At Last' by Etta James.

Planning is going great thanks. You? We only decided on our date last week so lots to do in 10 months. So exciting! Have appointments this week with vicar, cake maker, dress maker, hair and make up artist and florist.

Also chosen the bridal cars. 2 7 seat Daimlers, which used to be used for royalty. Room for the 12 strong bridal party, as well as 2 seats for OH and our son after the ceremony. £465 for there and back to reception, which I thought was good. Here they are...

There's some fairly small jars on the bay for about £30 for 100 ... They're about 4cm by 5cm (43ml) but I think that's sufficient for favours .. Even with personalised. Chocolates which are expensive the favours worked out about £2.50 each

I'm going with those jars Becci - works out so much cheaper, although went to a wedding fair today and a company said they could supply us with a sweetie table for £300, but still think that will work out more expensive in the long run.

Yes that's exactly what I was planning too Becci, but can't decide between tags or labels for the jars! I am too indecisive. Keep seeing too many nice things and changing my mind. One thing I have decided on though is the cake. Found this today at the wedding fair and have totally fallen in love with it. The cake was never high on my agenda of importance, but after seeing this, it's perfect for my theme. My OH even loves it, but we will change the silver to suit our vintage pink theme.

Becki, have you thought about mixing real flowers with artificial ones for your bouquet to get the lovely coral colour you want. I showed our florist a pic of the bouquet I liked which had purple roses in and she said they were fake because you can't get purple roses but you would never know the difference from the pic.

We had a successful time at the charity sale and found 6 square vases to put our centre piece trees in. I'm a little concerned one or two are a bit small but some sand and pebbles will hopefully be enough to weigh them down. X

Not yet Kirsty - we're meeting with the florists next month and now have a colour swatch of the dress so hopefully will know more then.. I'd love real flowers if possible but if not then the bouquet I found with just the pink/red rose in our colour being fake would probably work quite well
