I'm going to give the girls their hangers the evening before... we will be spending the night before together so will hang our dresses out with the hangers in preparation! Definitely want a photo of all the dresses hanging up on their hangers, although I also want my dress to be a surprise so I may have to ask them to leave the room whilst the photo is taken haha. I've done hangers for me, my mum, my 4 bridesmaids and my flower girl. I also thought about doing MIL one as a nice gesture as she won't be getting ready with us on the day, but I've got a few spares if I change my mind and decide to make her one xx

Oh is barely interested in helping organise .. His parents aren't that forth coming either .. He keeps saying his mam wants to do the invites and stationary and things but hasn't actually materialised yet .. Then they just keep saying let us know when you want some money towards anything .. I don't want to have to ask for money plus I can probably afford everything myself even though my mum keeps insisting on buying me things!!

I'm paying £80 for my trial and £120 on the day. That's for both hair and make up. Again you'll find prices will vary depending on where abouts in the country you are I think, I found this sort of price to be fairly standard around here xx

MrsMW could I please have the link to the hangers? Sorry to hear you are still having problems with your family.

We ordered our wedding rings today!! I ended up going for different than I previously wanted. Got diamond but the diamonds in middle not offset. It's a perfect match to my engagement ring

I'm having my hair and make up done by the same person. She's charging me £199 for both trial and hair and make up on the day. She's charging £99 for each bridesmaid (2 adults) for hair and make up and £15 for my 2 younger bridesmaids hair and my daughters hair will be free as she'll only be 2 at the wedding. She's got fab reviews and had won awards in the West Midlands so I'm really happy that we've managed to book her.

Has anyone looked at food choices yet? I know it's early but I was looking through the menu earlier and trying to decide what would go nicely together, our venue is highly rated for their food so I was even getting excited when reading the choices! Xx

Natalie we are having veg soup first then chicken & ham vol u vent 2nd with maybe another choice not sure yet. Main course is roast beef or turkey & Ham with all the trimmings and a veg option. We aren't sure shirt desert yet. Thinking either choice trifle (oh loves it) or hot choc fudge cake & ice cream or else a choice of profiteroles or cheesecake

We took out insurance with D3bs, they have lots of different levels to suit your wedding. The level we took out was only £36, got a £10 gift card from d3bs and also got £10 cash back through a cash back website, so all in all it didn't cost me much at all. I think it is definitely worth it as you just never know what might happen. Imagine your venue went down in flames a few weeks before your wedding? I think for the sake of a small fee it's definitely worth the peace of mind.

We've looked at menu choices but not decided, though we do have some stand out favourites. We are not going to decide until we've had a taster session at our venue though. Thinking the menu might change or might have already changed since we booked and got the wedding pack though, they are heavily focused on improving their food and have been advertising for a super duper chef to join their team, so trying not to set our hearts on anything just yet.

Also Danielle, it won't be too late to take out insurance. I know that D3bs cover any deposits paid up to 2 years before your wedding date, so what you've paid now would be covered.

I'm off to the National Wedding Show Friday in London - anybody else there too? Hoping to get some more advice re dresses and just some inspiration - main things we have left to do are - sort out vintage bus, sort cake, find a DJ, sort groom suits, brides dress, bridesmaid dresses, find string quartet.... Head spinning!!

I really wanted to go to a wedding show but none of the dates worked for me! You'll have to let us know what it's like because they do them March time too don't they?

I'm sure you'll sort everything just in time!

The dresses are the hArdest because there's so much choice and they're all gorgeous!!
I struggled with my bridesmaida because my sisters skinny and everything looked amazing on her but my other bridesmaids are more curvy so finding something that complemented them all and that they all loved took 2 full Days!!

Yes, I'll report back - may be a bit overwhelming as there is probably going to be so much lovely stuff, but we did go to a local one Sunday and we both thought a candy ferris wheel is a nice little touch and my Aunt has offered to supply the sweets through a wholesale.

Yes, I think they do a few and there is also the other one too - National Wedding Fair, which I think is next month.

I hope so - I am fretting re the dress at the moment. Found one I like, but not sure I love, if that makes sense. I just had visions of putting a dress on and saying "this is the one" but after trying 20+ on on Saturday, I only really felt "I like it" to one. Not even started with bridesmaid dresses, but then I am only having one: my sister, so shouldn't be too difficult as havent got to consider other figures and then we're having 2 flowergirls, but will sort them a few months before as they will be 3 and 4 and I don't want to get something now and they outgrow it, although did find something lovely on M0ns00n.

I'm also trying to make our invites at the moment - have sent the save the dates, but we need to sort out our menu before, so we thought we'd save that for a cold December evening and have a free evening out !!!

We went to the national wedding show at the NEC last year and it was a good experience but was a lot smaller than we had imagined! Also found a lot of the stalls were not really relevant to us, but then maybe that's just because we'd already had a lot of things sorted at that point and other things we just weren't personally interested in. Found there were a lot of venues exhibiting, I imagine most people would already have their venue booked though?!

One good thing we got out of the day was booking our magician. I wanted a magician but OH wasn't convinced, but having seen one live made him change his mind xx

You'll be fine with the dress .. There's so many you're sure to find one .. I tried on about 30 and still didn't get the its the one feeling but it's gorgeous .. I think I just liked so many for so many different reasons I couldnt choose. I honestly think I liked 20 short listed to 7 then just had to keep looking at the photos over and over ... Made a choice on a sparkly figure hugging mermaid with a massive trAin which I loved but in all honesty it was heavy. I made the fAtal choice after making a decision to browse dresses on here and found a beautiful lace gown but the shop that sold it only had a similar one an hours drive away and it was double the cost so I thought no way!

I then went to my sisters final prom dress fitting and for some silly reason looked down the wedding rack and saw a similar lace gown mum said are you trying it on and I was like eerrrrrr no I've chosen but she made me try it and it's beautiful my mum and bridesmaids both prefer this lace one but it was in the sample sale so had to decide there and then .. It needs taking in two sizes so I can't get the full effect until weeks before my wedding but when it fiits it can only become more amazing!

I wasn't convinced re magicians until SUnday at the local fair - he was excellent and did a few tricks for us, but we've decided against as it's just an added extra and OH is stressing how much everything is costing - we have a flip chart stuck to the lounge door and next to his name is a big :-( at the costs!!

I did check the range of the winning gown to be nosey and there was a very pretty one!!

Go along and try them on and see how they feel :) they're so much different on you! X

I couldn't see the full effect with my dress as the sample was at least 2 sizes too small! Tried on dresses of a similar style that did fit though and I could see that that was the shape/style for me. Took a leap of faith and just went for it! xx

I think that's whatI am going to have to do - it did feel nice on and I did step back from the mirror and think actually .... my mum said I have to try and envisage myself with hair all done and make up and the dress sitting properly. Problem was my Aunt took photos on her phone, emailed them to me and I've compared myself to the model - not a good idea!!! Hardly a "real bride!"

Wow - that is some dress Becci. I wouldn't feel brave enough to wear that, but it's very pretty!
