We had all intentions of having all the big things done with 6months to go but I don't think its going to happen. We go to OHs parents this weekend to see their new kitten so I've said we'll stop at the suit place on the way and get them ordered so that will be one thing off the list. OH is interested in helping out and choosing things but I wish he'd be a bit more proactive! Really don't want to be a nag.

The passport holders are really cute. Perfect first honeymoon picture. X

My OH was so excited about the suits he couldn't contain himself! We got the groomsmen's suits back in July and OH got his suit a few weekends ago. He is very impulsive though, when he sees something he wants he HAS to have it as soon as possible! xx

Hehe that must have been lovely to watch him getting so excited.

We went to try to book them the other day in a lunch break but the man was quite old and doddery and he didn't usually deal with wedding hire so we got half way through and the computer crashed and he didn't know what to do so we said we'd go again another day. He was very sweet and polite, he just didnt know what he was doing. The guy we saw when we first went to look was brilliant though so we hope he will be in this weekend. At leats we won't be in a rush to get back to work. X

Well ladies... I'm afraid I am jumping ship to the 2017 board. OH and I have been toying with dates for so long now and getting so frustrated. Then, out of nowhere, our perfect date emerge! 14th April... my mum and dad's wedding anniversary! What better way to honour my perfect parents who can only be at my wedding in spirit. It feels perfect. In order to get that perfect date though, the wedding will have to be in 2017.

Thank you all for your support. I wish you all the very best of luck with your big day!

Been looking at the Internet all night for somewhere to go on our honeymoon. We wanted to go straight after the wedding but it's over £1000 more to go August than it is sept. Were thinking first week of sept. Trying to find a 4/5 star hotel that's got less than 3 hour flight time. Travel agent phoning me in October when the villas are available so will keep looking for now. We both said were ready for a nice holiday, especially being LO first holiday abroad. LO been shouting aeroplane all night bless him lol. Exciting. Can't wait to get it booked now x

Where have you looked at so far?

The Canary Islands are lovely and hot all year round with nice beaches
The algarve is meant to be beautiful too - I'm looking there for a bridal party retreat a couple of weeks before the wedding for tanning purposes!
Or Cyprus but that's a 4 hour flight

I went to one of either Menorca or Majorca when I was about 6 and there was this one particular tree in the hotel grounds that had lollipops on it and we could just go take one from the tree and in the morning more would appear. At 6 years old I thought the tree was magic. That was an awesome holiday! I have no idea what the hotel or resort was called though. X

    Good morning Ladies!!

is been about 3 weeks since I've been on here! My MOH's wedding was absolutely beautiful and they loved their honeymoon in Bulgaria! Shes going through a very hard time a at the moment so wedding plans have taken a back seat :)

I have now made all invitations though and have worked out how many evening invites are needed. We've got our guestbook done and personalised :D and a lovely led sign to go on our guest book table!

Not going to be on here an awful lot - new manager at work and now my seat is directly infront of hers so I cant go on anything lol!! Hope your all getting on well!! xx

Majorca and Menorca are both lovely; not tried Palma nova though.

There's plenty for kids to do in Majorca and menorca and the beaches are lovely too!

There's so much choice it's hard to choose! We knew we wanted to go to Mexico but it took months to choose the hotel!

Thats a pain Kayleigh! I'm sure you'll be able to sneak on a few chats every now and then lol!

Thanks Danielle, I love my dress, really excited to wear it on our big day.

Good luck lady c, what a lovely way to honour your parents.

We went to the cake shop today to try some samples, they were delicious. She gave us a quote of £337 for a 3 tier cake to feed 130 people. It's a jam and buttercream sponge and would have iced roses and carnations cascading diagonally down the cake in Ivory and pale pink on to match my bouquet flowers and turquoise ribbon round to match our colour theme. It also includes delivery and set up, our venue provide the cake stand so that would be the total cost. Has anyone ordered their cake? What kind of price was it if you don't mind me asking? Xx

I think the price for the cake sounds quite reasonable Natalie. We are having a three tier cake to feed about 110 people coming in at £210 including set up and delivery. I think the iced roses and carnations would add more onto the price as they're more time consuming and intricate, ours is a ganache finished cake and we're supplying our own flowers/decorations so quite simple xx

There's so much choice Sarah ... I'd found about 6 that I short listed and oh just told me to pick one so I refused and made him look at the ones I short listed ... He liked three but had a favourite and it was actually the cheapest so we booked it that weekend!! He also gets to go on his Dreamliner like he's always wanted and its all adults so peace and quiet <3

Everyone I've spoken to speaks VERY highly of the 3xc3ll3nc3 r1v313ra but it is the upper price bracket; I had it in my shortlist and oh wasn't kean :(

    Hi Ladies,

I am in a bit of a dilemma.... My sister-in-law has offered to do my hair and makeup, but the likelihood we are going to be tying the knot at 12 noon and she's going to have to get ready herself, along with getting the boys ready as well. Also, I really want airbrush make upand I don't want to offend her, so not sure how to approach this.....

Secondly, what's the average cost of a DJ for the evening?

Is your SIL a qualified hair/make up person? If she's not then I'm sure she would understand that you want to get it done professionally. Could she maybe just help out with the bridesmaids? It's nice of her to offer but not so nice that she has put you in a bit of an awkward situation. I would just explain to her that you want airbrush make up done and so will need to go with someone else...

We're paying around £450 for our DJ from 7.30pm - midnight. Prices will vary heavily depending on location though xx

    Possibly
    Possibly "the one"
Thanks Flossie- she's a qualified hairdresser. I think I'd better speak to her sooner rather than later. BTW I LOVE those passport covers - they're a great touch for the honeymoon. I may have to look into getting some of those too.

Thanks for the quote sharing - that sounds about right then what we're being quoted. We just weren't sure as we went to a wedding fair yesterday at our venue and wanted to do a comparison.

Did fall in love with an old fashioned ferris wheel sweet thing, which I think we're going to book as a little extra - only £35 to hire and we figured we could go to the wholesalers to get sweeties to fill it! Also comes with paper bags and silver scoops.

Went dress shopping for the first time on Saturday - bit of a mixed experience as in my head I wanted vintage lace with bateau neckline and cap sleeves, but in reality it doesnt do a lot for me, but did try this dress on, which is a real contender for "the one" but not 100% sure, which makes me wonder if it's not "the one." Did you all know straight away that this was the dress when you found yours?

Could she do your hair but you just hire someone else for your make up?

Love that dress, it's lovely! Before I went dress shopping I had a favourite from browsing online... it was the first one I tried on and I did love it but at that point I didn't know it was "the one". I kept an open mind and then tried on lots of different styles, but nothing came close to the first one which is then how I knew it was "the one" so I took the plunge! I'd say just keep trying on and if your mind keeps going back to that one then you'll know! xx

The problem with my hair is I want it up and she said ages ago she wasn't very good at up dos...!! So you see my dilemma!!

Thank you - sadly I don't look like the model in it, but I did go to another shop Saturday afternoon and every dress I tried on was compared to this one. More to look at this Saturday, but realise now that I want something similar to this if not this! Problem I am having as I am only 5ft the samples are swamping me and it's difficult to tell how they will sit...

I genuinely think she would understand if you wanted someone else to do your hair and make up, particularly if she said herself she isn't very good at up dos and if she isn't a professional MUA.

I had a similar problem. The sample size of my dress was at least 2 sizes too small and didn't even do up, so it was really hard to see how it would sit properly on me in the correct size. That's the only thing that put me off at the time because I looked really huge in it, but having tried on dresses of a similar style that DID fit I could see that the style was perfect. You may have to take a bit of a leap of faith! It's good you've narrowed done the style though, you're halfway there xx

Thanks Flossie, the more we speak to people it seems more and more reasonable, think we are going to book them this week or during the weekend and that'll be another thing ticked off the list.

Our DJ is £245 and they're playing from 7.30 to 12.30. We've used the hotels in house dj, they're used by a few hotels in the area and have very good reviews so we were pleased to book with them xx

That dress is pretty :) I tried on probably 30 dresses and of them there was only about 3 that were a definite no.. We took photos of all of them and shortlisted them to about 7 .. I did have a favourite .. A gorgeous figure hugging mermaid that was really sparkly with a huge train which I really liked but IT was heavy .. I had chosen that and showed my bridesmaids and they loved it ... Then I made the mistake of looking at some on here and found a beautiful allur3 gown in lace but nearest stockist was 45 miles away and only had a similar gown .. I decided to ask price before travelling and it was twice the price of the gown I already loved so decided against it. I went back to one of the shops for my sisters prom fitting and had a quick look down the rail and saw a similar lace dress because I didn't go out looking for lace so mum made me try it on .. I liked it.. A lot but still loved the other dress too .. Then got told my lace dress was the last one because it's discontinued so I had to decide and quick!!! Mum and all my bridesmaids preferred the lace .. Every now and then I go back through P1nt3r3st and looking at my dress and love it more each time .. Although I still do sometimes doubt my choice a bit!!
