So sorry to hear that Rebecca. I can't imagine the pain you must be in. Try not to worry about the scars. You may not need surgery and if you do no-one will care about the scars. Everyone will be focussing on you not your back. If your dress is the one then wear it with pride. I hope you have a speedy recovery and that the pain subsidies for you xx

Rebecca, sorry to hear about your back pain. I see a chiropractor for mine after a car accident a few yrs back and its the best thing I've done for it. Could be worth a try. I suffered from headaches and it was caused by pain in my neck spreading up into the head but they've significantly reduced since going to chiro. And you should wear your dress with pride as you will looo beautiful whatever. You could always look for a lace bolero if you did still have concerns. Good luck. X

HelenC, I saved money on my dress by looking at sample sales and preloved dresses. My dress was half the price of getting it brand new and the only minor issues is a few loose beads which will be fixed during alterations.
If you still want to look at high street dresses, D3bs have a bridal range that you could go try on and see how you feel. Its your dress at the end of the day so if you love it, then nothing else matters. X

A few people have mentioned getting a chiropractor Kirsty .. I'm going to physio twice a week for manipulation and acupuncture which has stopped working so probably do need to try something different .. What types of things do chiropractors do (I didn't realise there was a difference between them and physios until recently!)

Helen - you don't have to buy a bridal store dress if you don't want to! It's what makes you most comfortable and what you want to wear on your big day; have a look at both bridal stores and retail stores and see which you feel best in?

Starting to plan my hen. I keep changing my mind on what I want to do but I think I'm going to go with one of those hen party packages that you can make up yourself through a company. I'm thinking cocktail making with a 2 course meal and then ladies night with some hunky men as entertainment. It's not something I thought I wanted but the more I think of it I quite like the idea as it's not something I'll ever do again. Things like a spa break, go ape or go carting I can do anytime.

Hi girls. Well I picked my dress yesterday, it was one from the first shop I went to, I love it and am so excited to wear it on our big day :)

We're onto bridesmaids dresses now, the shop i got my dress from offer a deal on the bridemaids dresses if you get the wedding suits from them to, we're off to the shop early october to try some on and i'll see what deals they offer. If its not a very good deal then I'll get them from the high street, has everyone picked their bridesmaids dresses yet? Xx

Took the plunge yesterday and bought some bracelets for my bms. I'd had an eye on them for a while but held out in case I found anything else, but not found anything I like as much so just went for them. They were marked at £8 each but were £7 at the till - bonus :)

Think I'm going to get these earrings for them too. A grand total of £8.96 for 4 pairs - love a bargain!

Thanks Flossie. Everything is back on track. My maid of honour is having a bit of a rough time at the mo and she was worried about cost and time but we've had a chat and it's all sorted. My friend who has now stepped down seem fine about it and we are meeting up next week for breakfast. I think she is relieved that I gave her a way out but didn't want to hurt my feelings. Says a lot about our friendship and I'm so happy that we haven't fallen out over it.
I love the bracelet and earrings, fab price too! xx

That's the main thing, at least it was amicable and you haven't lost your friendship over it! The fab thing is you can still share your wedding with her and she will still be there for support if you need her. Glad everything is back on track with your MOH too.

Without sounding too stingy I was looking for something as cheap as possible, by the time you times it by 4 it all adds up... the bracelets were only from Cl@ir3s but they look so nice! They look really delicate and shine like crazy in the light, chuffed with them. Earrings look like they should go really well too and are an absolute steal at that price xx

Rebecca - What you are going through sounds just awful. I'm so sorry. I hope so much they manage to sort things for you soon.

Katie - I'm starting to think about my hen plans too. Really want to do a burlesque class! Sounds so fun.

Natalie - Yay for finding the dress!

I'm going dress shopping this weekend! So excited. Taking my MOH who is also my sister-in-law. Just want to see what shapes etc would look good on me. Not planning on actually finding the one.

DF and I have also decided to find a separate venue for our evening reception. We have chosen Beaulieu as our ceremony and wedding breakfast venue, but as a mum I know if can be soul destroying if you have to leave a wedding early because your littlies are tired. If we have the reception in a local hotel it means families can book a room overnight, put the kids to bed when necessary, then tag team their OH to have one in the room with the kids for an hour and the other out in the party.

Understand about your stepdad's health, but don't leave your dress shopping to late as most places i spoke to needed at least 6 months to order dresses in, unless you buy a sample dress. your shops may be different know.

Thank you ChrissyR85 When is your big day?

My bridesmaids and I have been to a few shops to try the particular dress on Sarah but they are £200 each and I am having 5 bridesmaids. I have seen them on various websites for half the price but I am unsure about the quality of them. The site I mentioned before seems to have the best reviews but I am still sceptical. I can't understand how it can be the exact dress but at half the price. xx

    I know what you mean,
The dresses i've seen are £150 each so where all going up to london shopping to see if we can get something similar for less.
Did you type the company name into g00gl3 and seen if anything bad comes up? or just looked at reviews on there site?

This company n3tbr1d3 I put in and they have a lot of good reviews. I did see a thread on here but it is closed now about ordering d3ssy dresses from the US. I would like to speak to someone who has done it for a bit of reassurance, it could save us alot of money but equally if it goes wrong it could cost us more, its taking the risk.

Where are you both getting married? I live in Manchester but I am from NI so we are getting married just outside Belfast. Nice chatting to you both :) xx
