I had a rotten experience at my local M&S. I waited for absolutely ages for anyone to turn up at the lingerie fitting rooms (working in retail myself- that's a really daft thing to do. Unattended fitting rooms is a really common place for shop lifting) and when she did turn up, she started serving someone else wanting to be measured. I figured I'd ask about it and she'd give me a time to come back. Instead she sighed (if I remember correctly, there was some eye rolling involved) as she took me to a fitting room with a measuring tape. I overheard her with the other lady, being really friendly and helpful and getting her loads of bras to try on. With me, she practically strangles my ribcage with the measuring tape, tells me I'm a 40DD and leaves to go back to the other customer.
I was not pleased. Especially when I tried on a 40DD and it didn't sit right at all. I tried a 38E and that was perfect.
One of my friends tried La Senza before and she's advised me against it- their sizes are slightly different to everyone else's (I'd found this too- a 38 back I have from there feels like a 36- I have to wear a strap extender for it) so their measurement is only useful in their store.

All store's measurements are only for there store, M&S is completely different to debenhams and la senza they all try to make you either feel good about yourself or bad lol xx

Bras are useless - I bought a twin pack from Debenhams - 2 of the same bra - different colours. One the strap is tight, and I have it on the loosest catch, the other I have it on the tightest catch and it's still a bit loose. Quality control sucks. Similarly I ordered my bra for the wedding online, and ordered 2 sizes to try, a 32D and a 32DD - the 32D was *bigger*!!!
You have to try on each and every bra you buy these days - you can't even go "oooh I'm a Debenhams brand size x and an M&S size y" because of the above lack of quality control in the manufacture, plus the style can affect the fit too.... Although more than one person I know has praises Triumph for their quality and consistancy, and so far I agree...

You have to always, always, always check a bra fits before you buy it. I never assume I'm the same size I was 6 months ago as my weight tends to fluctuate.
Can't wait until the day I become Mrs. Johnson :)
CommentAuthorMel D
Definitely have to try each and every one on ... I can't believe how much the sizes differ between brands!

M&S has always been good for me. but saying that, they said i was 32C but then i've become a 34C. might have to try somewhere else. hmm

lol I just try every bra on I get now, use to get them from cheap n nasty 'queue'marni but lasted about 5 mins once they got washed they fell apart, i agree with most ladies here to try on before you buy and another tip
Don't buy your wedding underwear until at least 3 months before because you will change and don't try a bra on when it's that time of the month unless that's when your due to get married as the bra will be slacker on your big day xx
