Random question...Once I've had my photos taken what happens with the bouquets (mine and 2 bridesmaids)? I was thinking of using the petals to decorate the tables, for either the day or evening or both? But my mum says a bit brutal breaking up the bouquet but what else will happen to the flowers? Seems a good idea to me to recycle!
Any thoughts? xx

Yeah I forgot about throwing it! x
I'm very lucky to not have anyone's grave to place it on x

Depending on the style and weather etc they can last for ages, so pop them in water at the reception, take them home (or send with bridesmaids) and enjoy them!
For my sisters wedding we put ours in a vase of water to keep them fresh just before the wedding breakfast/receiving line and then when we got home I put them in a vase without the ribbon so I had lovely flowers in my flat for a week later as sister was on honeymoon.

I was bm once where the bride kept them in water and put them on the graves of family members on both hers and the grooms side the next day. Where I come from that's the norm. Someone else mentioned it but I thought I would too anyway.

I want to keep my bouquet forever but cannot as they will be real flowers unless I get them freeze dried and frame my bouquet for everyone to see in the living room or bedroom =D ♥ X

Think we are going to use the bridesmaid flowers in vases on the head table, but much though much after that x
CommentAuthorJoanna
I think some people put them in vases on the tables or top table for the sit down meal.

Ours are artificial so we'll be keeping ours. When I was bridesmaid for my sister, we kept the bouquets in water and then got to keep them for a week. I like Kelbel's idea though about giving them to the couples who have been married the longest! thats a nice touch - grandparents mayb? xx

GothBride2b - Thats what I was planning to do was to put them on both our nans graves after the wedding. Or I was going to get some artificial ones int eh same design as my bride bouquet so then they're like a forever thing.

I had a vase on the cake table and another by my post box/guest book and placed mine and my moh flowers in those.I then kept my flowers and moh kept hers...they lasted for nearly two weeks! Remember to get vases with wide necks so that the flowers stems will fit.I also put lots of coloured pebbles in the bottoms of the vases so that they still looked pretty prior to the flowers being in them but they also helped to keep the flowers from leaning to one side x

Have seen a lot of bridal bouquets placed on the cake table so thats where mine will no doubt go! and the two BM's will probably have theirs placed on the candy buffet table for the evening. we are having artificial flowers so no vases or water required! and then after the wedding they can have their bouquets taken apart and made into a vase display if they want, or if they dont ill have them and make a vase display with them! my bouquet will be kept in a box somewhere! mom still has hers 28 years later, think its a great keepsake x
