Before we were even engaged we always said we wanted to go to the Maldives, but I don't think there is anyway we'll be able to afford it, not if we want the days itself to be the way we want it - fingers crossed for you though - that would be lovely. I think we're going to wait until after Christmas so we will have more of an idea of what we have actually managed to save! x
CommentAuthorb2bnicola
Yeah it is really expensive - we're just going to see how much discount my mate (whos a travel agent) can give us :) xx

I love the Dom Rep, it's my favourite place in the whole world. We've never met such lovely people as the Dominicans but we go there as a family so didnt think it was right for the honeymoon. I think we'd kill each other if we went to the Maldives though!

Mexico is good - I have been there but H2B hasn't so we were going to go but I would spend an absolute fortune the last time I went I spent about £2000 just on shopping so thought that was maybe a bad idea with how much we are actually spending on the wedding lol don't think we could afford for me to blow all that money shopping!! xx

Only really leaves Europe (boring!!) and the States then. Ooooh, how about Hawaii? We thought about it but went with LA and Vegas instead. You can do twin centres so could team Hawaii with somewhere like New York or LA if you want a bit of excitement as well but if you just want to chill them stick with just Hawaii?
CommentAuthorb2bnicola
Isnt that in hurricane season in september? xx

Hi, We are married and we went on a short honey moon in Budapest. We are now looking to plan a "real" honey moon somewhere using the money from our gift list. We were first thing of a private tour in South Africa in September but it is far too expenseive and it does not sound very safe. We are now looking for: Mauritius, or Barbados, or Oman (trecking in the desert+resting on the sea side), or city breaks in Hongkong and Singapore. If all these destinations are not fitting in our budget, we will look for 2 weeks in Malta Island.

South Africa is stunning Cecile. I used to live there and never saw anything bad happen. I think most places are un-safe nowdays, you just got to have your witts about you and be sensible. Don't let the horror crime stories put you off going hun, I felt safer in Joburg than I do in London! How is married life treating you by the way?
CommentAuthorb2bnicola
Mauritius sounds loooooooooovely :) xx

Married life is nice, it is more or less like before but with a ring. We will go to South Africa one day but it is to expensive right now as we want to save money for a deposit for a flat. Like ot of you according to this post the trouble is to find a nice place that none of us has visited yet and within our budget. I think our choices are good and we now need to contact our travel agent to have some quote and make our decision. Yes Mauritius sounds lovely and the pictures are amazing, as well as Barbados

What about SE Aisa, There are some great islands in Malaysia called the Perintians that are stunning, also Bali is pretty special. Thats were we're off to, but for 2 months, then India and Nepal for 4 months, bit greedy really, but found out last week that my work will let me have leave so I will have my job to come home too. If I want doing the above (which suits me and Will to a tea as we love travelling) I dream of Maldieves/Seyshell's! How amazing would it be to have one of those bungalows built in the sea, so you can go snorkling, lush! One tip with these places, take everything you will need like sun cream/toothpaste etc, as they are remote islands the prices for these things can be sky high!

the maldives is really lovely perfect for your honeymoon, always check around. we always booked out holidays with a company on line which gives out great deals, much better than the usual likely suspects lol. although we do have a soft spot for thailand, which is where we nearly choose to have our wedding, good luck in finding your dream honeymoon :)

maldives sounds divine, my brother went last year for a hol and said it was bliss. might go to mum's house in france, love france but i would love to return to hawaii, went 20 years ago with mum and brother, stayed couple of days as it was stopover to new zealand to visit relatives. will see, nothing's even been booked yet so best sort that lot out first lol!! x

I can't wait to get to the honeymoon booking stage :)
Hoping to visit a few places in America, particularly Vegas before heading to Hawaii or something similar for a wee beach week.
