    Hi,

Bit of help needed please! We've getting married in November 2014 so I know it's too early to give notice but I'm not too sure how to do it.

We're getting married in Oxfordshire (where my H2B is from) but we currently live in Bedfordshire so we're not too sure where we need to give notice.

Also stupid question but how do you actually book the registrar? Do we just need to contact Oxfordshire county council?

So very confused - please help!!

    xxx

I had to contact the registry office local to my ceremony venue.

You can do a search online for the registry offices then you just phone them and ask to book a wedding.

    Hope this helps.

You will need to give notice in the district where you live now, and they will issue a marriage license to take to the district where you are getting married, I believe.

You will also have to book the registrar in Oxfordshire before you give notice.

So you will need to give a ring to both districts - details of where to contact should be on the direct gov website.

Becky you can book the registrar and time whenever u want, u just need to ring your registry office in the area you're getting married... This can cost about £15 to book
At the 12month or anytime up to 3weeks mark you need to make an appointment at your local registry office to give notice at a cost of £35 each, this is where ur notice will be up for view for 15 days to make sure no one objects etc... Then ur good to go x

This is the same for me.
Getting married 45 mins from where i live. So have to give notice where I live but take the document to where I'm getting married.
You can book the registrar as soon as you have a venue but can only give notice at most 12 months before.
