I booked the wedding car today, got a bargain cos its a week day. Its usually £450.00 on a Saturday but cos its a Monday we got £150.00 off and we can have as many trips as we like.

Ooh thats really nice! And well done on getting a good price on it too!
I'm hoping for a horse and carriage but I dont think the distance is far enough to justify it, so I could be walking haha!

thats lovely!
I'm not having any because me and bm's are getting ready at the hotel but I'm thinking about getting an Aston Martin DB9 for h2b
CommentAuthormym72
We were going to have a Beauford at first - but I didn't like the idea of a 'traditional' car. I nagged hubby til he gave in - and we had a white VW Camper!!!
I have been offered a lift in friend of MIL2b car to get to ceremony.
FIL2b has a jag with named plates so we're using that to come away from ceremony to venue.
Can't justify spending on fancy cars when it's such a long journey - imagine going an hour without proper suspension, power steering, air con or heaters! Brrrr no thank you - luxury all the way for us :)
I'm now a married woman
I have a gorgeous husband
Whats to do now
Theres no more wedding planning to do

i'm not having a car at all, as i am getting ready at the venue for the wedding. Saves some pennies! I've got a feeling my other half might turn up on his motorbike though lol

I think we're having a London bus to transport the guests. If we have the reception in the same town as the ceremony then I'll probably stay in a hotel the night before and walk. If the reception venue is in a different town then i want to head back with the guests on the bus so we're having discussions about getting me there at the moment as I'm happy to jump in a taxi but Dan thinks I should have a car.
If only life could be one long tea break
CommentAuthorRags
I would have been happy with a mini bus taxi - you know the ones with the blue lights and the boom box, but we were offered a lift so my bm's will have to fend for themselves ha!

That's amazing! I'm staying in our venue (it's a castle but with hotel attached) overnight so technically my transport the day before is a Virgin train from London Euston to Chester and then a taxi :-) Wifey wants a helicopter. I don't think she's propely considered the implications of her massive dress and hair!!!

Im using my own car but it will need a good valet first lol

Our gorgeous Beauford Tourer, the roof has to be lowered so i can get into it for the church and then it will be taken down for pics and then put back up for the trip to the venue so my hair doesnt get messed up too much

when we were going to the lighthouse i suggested we arrange with the local light railway (the metro) and all go on that - i was laughed at! But i said it was a greener idea, and i reckon would be quite good fun, but now we're closer, i did suggest the bus and that got laughed at too!

We've got a Chrysler 300c in black... Tis very nice! BMs are having a taxi... They're fine with that :) xx
Here comes the bride......
CommentAuthorLittleMissBossy
I am really not bothered about transport, I think it will be a cab.
Our wedding venue is about 50 mins drive away so I don't know yet if I'll stay in a hotel nearer the venue the night before or if I'll stay at home. That will be a factor in the decision ofc.
I am totally against traditional overprized wedding cars - so that's a huge veto from me. There's a guy in my town who's done up his cars like a few characters in the movie Cars. My idea was to ask him if he can be hired - Lightning McQueen would match our colour scheme but I'd go for Tow Mater - tatty vintage truck is much more me than a snazzy sportscar :-) But boring old h2b is not having it - he hates this idea with a passion. Though it's none of his business technically because he won't be near the car anyway...
The next idea was to ask an aquaintance to hire his services - he owns a .... well I forgot. Some famous oldtimer from the late 40s. It's quite shabby inside but that's what Iike it's far more authentic this oldtimer. But he doesn't think he'll still have it in May as he's trying to sell it....
The only other poncy car I'd set my foot in is a cadillac - in turquoise, red or pink. But there are none to hire in our area and am actually not sure if I could justify spending lots of money on a car.

I'm having a 1950's Alvis - looks like a proper traditional wedding car like some of the pics above all cream and white...
BM's are going in my 1979 Mini - going to stick bows on it to match the wedding car :)
And OH is going in his subaru, one of his ushers will probably drive it and again will put bows on it aswell... Will have to get the polishing rags out to make sure they are all shiney :) xx

There's a guy that rides his two shire hires with a little cart on the back past my shop every day. I'm so tempted to chase him down the street to see if he could do something. But he's not set up for weddings, so doesn't have a carriage, just the trap with his two Jack Russells in the back - I'd get soaked if it rained!!
There's also a Maclaren dealership across the road, with Mika Häkkinen's old car in the window - if i have my Knutsford venue then it's only 200 metres, reckon they'd take me? Yeah right!
