Hi all, I booked my reception venue and paid the deposit at the end of December. They said they would send confirmation through which I received by email but I've had no contract as yet and I'm getting worried as I've heard nothing from them.
How long does it normally take for a venue to send contracts on average and how often should I expect communication from them?
Getting very worried as I don't want anything to go wrong. We are have my a church wedding so this is for the wedding breakfast and evening do.

I'd expect to see the contract and sign it before I paid the deposit to be honest. Contact them and ask where it is xx

Yes contact them, it could be an honest mistake. Ask them how often you should expect to hear from them as well.

We had a contract before deposit maybe ring and if they don't answer then pop in x
To be fair, we paid and she then emailed the contract to which we signed and sent back after....
If you are concerned, yes, call them. It will put your mind at ease xx

We paid the deposit first before being issued a contract as well. It's a hard situation really - do they want to give you a contract, and risk you not paying? Or do they want you to pay first but you risk not getting a contract out of it?
I am sure all is fine though, hope you manage to catch up with them today and they can put your mind at rest xx

We booked our date, got the contract about 5 days later and signed and paid deposit a week after that. Our venue held the date until 7 days after contract was issued to let us go over everything and decide we were happy

We had a similar situation. We contacted the hotel to say we wanted to go ahead and were waiting to get the contract before paying the deposit (we don't live nearby so popping in wasn't an option) - Then I got an email asking if were still wanting to go ahead as they would release out date if we hadn't paid. It turns out that they don;t send the contract until the deposit is paid. OH was not happy about that so a bit of back and forth via email and and we got to see a copy of the standard contract terms to read before we paid - still waiting on the official copy to come out to be signed though!
I hope you get it all sorted soon!
