Our wedding is on bonfire night and unfortunately we can't afford a proper fireworks display as they cost upwards of £500. Our night venue overlooks the Tyne so we should get a view of fireworks across the river which should be lovely but it'd be nice to do something a bit different too.

Does anyone think sparklers is a bit much? you can get indoor ones for cakes or we could give them out before we go to night venue (everyone would need gloves though!)...and for the table decorations we're thinking of painting pumpkins white and carving them with candles inside...much cheaper than flowers but lots of work for us! Just trying to work the seasonal theme!

Does anyone have any other ideas that would make our bonfire wedding extra special? xxx

maybe for center pieces you could have those fancy twig things and spray them with gold glitter and hang some gems of them? or go for somehting with wintery colour flowers and maybe some leaves? you could get some bird cages found some on a website thats on my page. If you really liked the fire work idea why dont you ask your guests to bring a fire work along with them ? :Dx

For your centerpieces you could get some autum leaves and sticks and arrange them like a bonfire, u Cud see if your cake maker to make this out of sugarpaste. You could het a fire pit and use that as your bonfire, don't forget toasted marsh mellows and smors

How about for the centre pieces you get coloured paper (flame colours) and mini fans to make flickering flames, like mini bonfires. You may need to be crafty or get someone who is crafty to rig them up, but they would be cool! You can get mini sparklers and cake sparklers from most supermarkets too! Your wedding cake or dessert could be made of parkin, that's usual for bonfire night. How about also using christmas fairly light that strobe on the ceiling of your venue to emulate fireworks?
