Sorry for the rant ladies but just had to get it off my chest. As you can tell by the title of this thread the best man is starting to pee me off already.
My H2B has 2, both as useless as each other but 1 is just a pain in the ass and is making our wedding all about him. He always does it so it's nothing new.
Anyway, we chose the men's suits in November and was told the men needed to be measured before the end of January, as being brand new suits for this year they would be very popular and sell out quickly. We have paid 50% deposit and even with a hefty 25% discount they are still costing us £130 per suit, with 6 to buy, this has cost us a fair bit.
Well last weekend we got a phone call to say my brother (usher) and H2B's 2 best men were still to be measured and they needed to go in by 31st (yesterday) so we reminded them to go.
One BM went on Saturday and my brother went in today (albeit past the deadline but was still ok). H2B has emailed, text and phoned the other BM to ask him to go and he still hasn't been. My brother rang me before to say he was all sorted but the shop told him that the BM was still to be measured and he had until this Saturday to go as this was the deadline to order them and he was holding the whole order up.
I've sent him a message on facebook (which he ignored) then text him an hour ago to say he needed to get in otherwise we'll lose the order. This has caused murder with my H2B and I as he says I've stepped on his toes and I'm always on the BM's back about things! I've known him for 10 years and he's just lazy and has borrowed money off my H2B on numerous occasions, taking months to pay it back...and I mean 9 months!! He still owes our other friend £130 from October 2010!!!
Anyway, he has text me back saying "Chill bridezilla...I'll go tomorrow!" - FUMING isn't the word! I've ignored the message as I will end up saying something nasty back which will just cause more upset with H2B!
Sorry for the rant...had to vent! I am now calm!!

Fair enough you're fuming! All he has to do is go to a shop for what? Twenty or thirty minutes to get measured, and he couldn't fit that into the weekend or any of the other days up to the deadline? Grr!
CommentAuthorSijen
Madhen - it's 10 fecking minutes. They are so good at getting the right size. Everyone has gone in, been given the right size jacket and waistcoat straight away to try and then measured for the trousers. Simples!!

Well then your h2b can suggest he meets him for a pint and just detour into the shop on the way to the pub - no excuses!!
CommentAuthorMrs brown - 19/08/12
Id be fuming too! How hard is it to go into the shop for half hour or what ever stand their to be measured, Pure lazyness id say! I would br draging him there by his ears Lol x
Madhen - he's tried that and the most annoying thing is that he has to pass the shop to go home from work AND he is never out of the pub around the corner!
H2B know how much he annoys me which is why I think he's told me to leave it to him...but I want things doing NOW!! Lol...men just aren't urgent enough ha

No, they think it'll all miraculously come together...would serve him right if he got one that didn't fit properly and was ridiculously short in the leg and baggy around his waist or something, just to make him look like a ninny, but unfortunately it's your wedding that the ninny would be attending!
CommentAuthorSijen
Yep I agree hun. If he doesn't go in tomorrow or by Saturday then I'll be telling the shop to just send the order in without his measurements and he can buy his own suit!

CommentAuthorladyannwyn
wow i would go mental at him! its such an easy thing but it wasnt just about his suit you told him if he didnt go get meausred u could lose the whole lot and ur deposit! men really are slow (in all senses of the word!!!!) i would also say send for the suits u have got measurements for and make him get his own suit if he wants to attend, and i would say if he wants to stay bm then he has to match! make it hard for him!!!! xx

I dread what's ahead of me as regards getting h2b to get his behind in gear...
CommentAuthorJilly17
How incredibly rude of him!!!! If he does not go in tomorrow I ould definately be cancelling his suit...idiot!
CommentAuthorSweetchilli
That would of really wound me up, what a tw*t. If he doesn't go today I would cancel his suit and tell h2b he can't be a bm now as he would just spoil your day with his lack of interest and sh*t* attitude.

That would have really wound me up as well, if he delays the order and you end up having to pay more, make him pay for it!
I'm starting to look for the groom's party outfits, where did you get yours from?
CommentAuthorMrsDanks
I would be fuming too, I agree he can pay if it all mucks up. xx

To be honest, knowing he was that much of a pain in the bum I wouldn't have reminded him and told the shop to send the order off without his one. I'd have rather lost the deposit and not had him than all this hassle. If everyone else can get there then why shouldn't he. x

He sound like a knob I would of told him if he can't be arsed to do it then he could pay it out of his own cash, that way if he couldn't be arsed he'd of lost his own cash instead of u and u having him being a complete t**t to u, ur not even a bridizilla u just concerned for ur money and everything else I would tell ur h2b to sort the Moran out xx

well he went in this morning. I got a text saying "Done!", I didn't reply. He then sent a second text earlier on tonight asking if H2B has bought cufflinks as he wants to buy the groom / best man ones. This is what he does - tries to be all "I'll do anything for everyone. Aren't I a wonderful person?" He won't get the cufflinks but I just replied saying that would be a lovely thing for YOU to do!

Blimey what an ar5e! I'd have sent the order off without him - he missed the deadline, he can buy his own! Glad he (eventually) got it sorted! :) Xx
