Hi ladies, just having a minor panic about finding a bra for our wedding day. I have been a 34JJ for last two years, went to get fitted in Brav!ss!mo today and have gone down to a 32JJ. So feckin annoying as I hate ye old chesticles anyway and am frantically searching for a good, supportive strapless bra for my wedding dress.
This is the search so far...
I bought a 32J strapless bra from a catalogue but it is horrendous! I have kept it as I was worried I wouldn't find one again but it has zero support, gives me madonna boobs and is so itchy (lacy bits on bottom).
Well, I went into my bridal shop today and asked whether it would change the shape of my dress, the woman told me not to worry as the dress is quite structured, I just needed something to support my chest and keep them in place...this bra WON'T do that!
She advised me to get the 'Evie' bridal bra (absolutely stunning) so I nipped across to Brav!ss!mo to be fitted due to losing weight (it never comes off my boobs) and sods law the 'Evie' bra only goes up to a H cup.
HOWEVER!!! The bra woman did say that BRAV!SS!MO would be bringing out their own branded strapless bra in larger sizes similar to the Evie one but it may not be until the Spring/Summer. Spring catalogue is already out and no sign of a larger strapless bra
I've emailed BRAV!SS!MO asking about it but waiting on a reply. Just thought I would share this with you more blessed ladies and also appeal for help in finding a great, supportive bra in my size! Can anyone help?

Do you have a La Senza near you? They may be able to help and have a sale going on as I think they are going into administration. They have bigger cup sizes as well might find yourself a bargain. What about a bra that comes with transparent straps would that help?
They basque's are even smaller in cup size hun, I was having this discussion today with the woman in the shop.
The Panache Evie bra is an absolutely stunning bra and the girl was saying even though it's a bridal bra, she wears it as her strapless bra (F cup) and it's so comfortable and VERY secure! Worth a look for you both maybe?
I love that you both say "Only an E cup" lol - I would love an E cup ha ha.
I'll have a mooch on La senza now - not really thought about them before, thanks.

does it have to be a bra? What about a corset type thing? I found on ebay a seller, they make proper steel boned corsets, i have bought 4 from them in different colours including an ivory one for the wedding day and have always found them to be brilliantly made and actually very comfortable. My friend is very large busted and she said the same, she felt really supported on her wedding day. They sell at a fraction of the rrp, i have bought mine for around £30 when ordinarily they would retail at £100+ Let me know if you are interested and i will send you the link.

Have you thought about a strapless corset??? Just thinking it might be the only option. I got the strapless support corset from asda, and its brilliant. It looks pretty, they have them in black and white, and they are lacy so not passion killers, they are really good a pushing in all my lumps and bumps the straps are multiway and come off completely and best of all its only £12.00. I wore mine at christmas under my strapless dress and got many compliments xxx Good look hun - I am an F cup x

My best friend has a rather large chest and only buys here bras at Bravissimo, however she wanted something ultra special, and very supportive for her wedding so she went to Rigby and Peller in London and had one made. It wasn't the cheapest way of doing it, but she got the perfect bra that gave her amazing support!
If only life could be one long tea break
CommentAuthorLegoWife
I think a corset will be an excellent idea. Great support and will suck you in that little bit more! lol.
Stolen that link for myself too :). I'm a DD but they travel down rather than out :( A strapless bra would never be enough support but a corset will!

I hate my chesticles as well, I think they contribute to my back problems as well :( I'm a bit smaller than you though as I'm only a 32h. I've noticed that deb enhams have started doing more in my size but don't know if they go up to J Marks and sparks have also started doing more bigger sizes. They're sooo expensive though, but I guess that down to the extra scaffolding we need lol

wow I am lucky if I am a 3o A haha! I must admit though I would prob prefer it this way incase they start to hurt but I always wanted bigger boobs. Lucky you x is it bravissio that do larger sizes? I am not sure given I obv never use them

Year Suzky - they do D - K cups.
Clare, I know, tell me about it..Was gutted too because there was loads of gorgeous bikinis and swimsuits in the sale at Brav...but still around £40, but I just didn't have the money to buy them and I'll be gutted when I come to need them and they're full price lol.
La senza website is down but i'm sure they don't go up that big...I'll go into a place in Liverpool at Easter and they can tailor braas to fit so may be able to make a larger, structured non-strapless into a strapless one.

Last time i went to la senza they'd not quite gone up to my size, must admit i've not been back in for ages as didn't think there would be much point. May have to have a look tomorrow.
One another note. I went to try a dress on a few weeks back and I was really worried about what I'd wear underneath it and the lady asked me to take my bra off! I really wasn't confident at all but thought would humour her, it fitted perfect and i felt so supported and secure with no drooping or over spill lol unfortunately it was at one of the shops that wouldn't let me take a piccie and i can't remember the name off hand. my b00bs are letting me down at the minute on choosing my dress :(
CommentAuthorSijen
See I just chose dresses that I liked, didn't think about the boobage then tried them on. Elimated them through being too low cut, spillage, restricting etc. Mine is strapless but it fitted so wonderfully even not in my size, so I may just be worrying for nothing but need to sort a back up

Sijen im the same as you. Iv been blessed with 34JJ, i luv my boobs but struggling to find ny bras for my wedding day :( did ask the bridal shop if i could go braless, they said it is a possibility with a corset style dress as it holds everything in but they recommend a bra for comfort x

La senza website won't be back up :( and they only go up to gg I went into the store the other day with stepmum. Have you tried the dress on with the bra you bought?
CommentAuthorSijen
Ooh nuisance but thanks Katie. Nope haven't tried the dress with the bra. I have just tried the bra on again and it's too big and just looks plain silly. Will have to find a new one and try it on nearer the time when hopefully I've lost some more weight (may go down another size - I'm hoping anyway).

Well, I've just had an email back from Brav!ss!mo and I tell you, they are so brilliant.
They are currently working on a strapless bra up to a K cup and currently making one of their basque's in Ivory (only in black at the moment). Both should be ready for summer (she thinks in time for my wedding) - however, she did say that if I couldn't get a good strapless bra then to ask a trusty seamstress to make one of my favourite fitting bras into a strapless one and sew it into my wedding dress...as loads of the larger busted Brav!ss!mo ladies in their office have done this and it's worked brilliantly!
So there you are...hopefully panic will be averted and as the alterations are done in house on my wedding dress, I'll ask them to do this for me if I can't get a strapless one before my final fitting.
So with this, I've just gone on and ordered loads of bras in my new size, plus a tankini and briefs in the sale for my hols and it's all on the credit card (oops) - will pay it off next month ha.

mrs cartwright 2 b. You can probably get away with it with some styles of bra and buy a 36DD.
CommentAuthorLittleMissBossy
I have never been measured and I suspect a professional measurement will give me a different size - according to my own diagnosis I am an 36H - I ordered the Evie bridal one via Littlewoods and it was huge, I now own the 34H to have some more support. But I still don't find it enough and will wear see through straps with them as my dress has a tulle overlay on the shoulders. The shape of the bra is nice though - but I do like a quite pointy breast :-)

I have a problem just gettting everyday bras as I'm a 40D. It's not so much the D but the 40 with it that a lot of shops don't seem to do (especially the seamless t shirt kind).
