    I'd been looking around for some alternative vows but trying to keep the an amount of the religious aspect as we're getting married in church. Showed the ones I'd found to Ross and he screwed his face up;
"I like them but I'm not sure about all this God business in them"
    I almost fell over laughing
"But Ross lovey, we're getting married in Church, it's commonly known as the house of God so this 'God business' is a bit necessary"
"Oh" he says and screwed his face up again
(I was brought up Methodist but Ross has never practiced religion and over the past few years has decided he's a total Atheist)
I threatened to make him write his own vows and he got cold sweats and started shaking lol

    SO
Do any of you lovelies know where I can find some appropriate vows for a church wedding that although have an emphasis on God aren't overbearing (if that makes sense)

    It's right what they say
"The course of true love never runs smoothly"
But if it had been easy then we wouldn't love each other as
much as we do right now - 1 week to go :D

these are ones we are thinking about

<Name>, I take you to be my wife/husband/partner, I promise to love you, honour and respect you. I will stand by you and be true to you always. I give you this ring as a symbol of my love and faithfulness and I ask you to wear it as a reminder of the vows we have spoken today. Whatever life may bring I will always love you and I choose you as the person with whom I will spend my life. My best friend.

<Name>, I offer you my love. I offer you my strength. I offer you my support. I offer you my loyalty. I offer you everything I am and everything I have, for as long as we both shall live.

(Name), I take you to be my lawfully wedded (husband/wife).
Before these witnesses and God, I vow to love you and care for you
as long as we both shall live.
I take you, with all your faults and strengths,
as I offer myself to you
with all my faults and strengths.
I will help you when you need help, and
turn to you when I need help.
I choose you as the person with whom I will spend my life. My best friend.

Weve written our own vows and they go like this : -

Terry I love you, you are my best friend,
I give myself to you today in marriage with a promise to inspire and encourage you in everything you do,
To laugh and comfort you through lifes ups and downs,
To love you in good times and also in bad,
To love when life is easy and when times are hard,
To cherish and hold you in the highest regard,
I give you my love, now, tomorrow and all the days of our life.

    Debs x
