I am a Blackpool bride to be and am struggling to decide where the best place is to have our wedding reception. We have a budget but various hotels charge various prices with various packages. Arrrrgh its so hard. Anyone got any tips or recommendations

I'm not IN Blackpool but from there, and did a little bit of research in case we decided to get married there as it's where my family is from!
I would say if you find a package that has everything you want or 99% of it, and is reasonable then take it! Out of season weddings are cheapest anywhere so with you wanting October the prices will be much lower than they would be!
What kind of budget do you have for your reception and how many people are you looking to invite?

Our overall budget will be about £5000 but we not wanting to spend more than 2k on the wedding reception and evening do. Had a few prices quoted almost offering the same package but can't make sense of why some are so much cheaper than others. Looking at 50 people for wedding breakfast then upto 100 for the evening do

I know the Pleasure Beach have a few function rooms at reasonable prices although they are large rooms! We looked at the Attic which costs around £600 but its open air so maybe not appropriate for a wedding so late in the year :P
There are also places like the art gallery in the middle of Blackpool town centre that I know can be hired but unsure of any details on that one! We also considered a few hotels, mostly towards Lytham St Annes where I lived but the best one is Norbreck Castle hotel does an amazing wedding package with lots of things included and their packages start at £1000. if you wanted just a room the Lytham Assembly Rooms are amazingly cheap and they don't charge anything extra for use of their equipment so all you would have to do is decorate and arrange for catering! I have actually attended and hosted events there in the past, it's a really nice looking building right in the middle of Lytham (lots of photo opportunities!) and the staff are incredibly helpful and friendly!
Hope that helps, if not let me know as I have lots more! :)

Thanks A really helps, We did look into the Norbreck but were put off because every single review we read was very negative. We are going to look round The New President Hotel on monday as they are doing a package for £999 and thats meant to be day and night do inclusive. Just hope its not too good to be true lol Will let you know how we get on as I might need some more ideas from you
I haven't been to a wedding at the Norbreck but did go to a charity ball there about two years ago and it was wonderful, the room was lovely and the food was very good!
The New President is nice! Never been to an event there myself but heard some nice things! I hope it goes well but I have tons more info should you need it :)

I live near Blackpool and we looked at the Stuart Hotel just by the Pleasure Beach. Our friends had their reception there and it was really nice.

Registry office for the Wedding vows and then onto The New President Hotel for knees up lol. We were surprised how good they are there.

We're having a little party when we get back at the Ruskin Hotel - we went to a wedding there last year and it was lovely. I've got the Cake Lady doing my cake for £90 which I think is really cheap.

That is good, we did look at the Ruskin but found the package at The New President was better and still under £1k. I'm using Enticing Cakes in Cleveleys, she's always done our celebration cakes and I can't fault her so I'm sticking with what I know lol
