As far as I know you could turn up naked and it would be legal, although a bit chilly. A black dress should be fine. Bridesmaids wear them after all.

Have u got a church booked, if so why dont you give them a call and see what they say, i cant see there being a problem, but u'd hate to buy it and then find out the church is really against it

Shouldn't see why i would be a problem, after all bridesmaids wear black dresses and i'm pretty sure you can wear what you like, it's your day!! xx

    Think about it this way...

Is the vicar likely to ask you what you are wearing before the wedding day?
Is the vicar likely to stop the wedding as he doesn't like your dress?

Monochrome was all the rage theme wise a couple of seasons ago and black wedding dresses were THE dress to have - can't see the Church objecting. If in doubt ask your Vicar

    It's right what they say
"The course of true love never runs smoothly"
But if it had been easy then we wouldn't love each other as
much as we do right now - 1 week to go :D

I would definately say ask your vicar, our local one is very strict and i think he would have issues with different coloured dresses. I however think the black dresses that i have seen are absolutly amazing! Hope it works out for you, x

Good call Natty, it is really stipid to think a church might be annoyed at a dress, but i remeber coming across a website saying take the church into account when choosing a dress, i.e not to revealing, so that the church is not offended, so its always best to check :)

Yeah I think you can get married in any colour in church, Ive seen brides marry in red in church before.
