Wedding Forum - Bit of a disaster :(...

So yesterday was my hen day tbh, it was a bit of a disaster.... It started the night before when I went down with flu and didn't sleep and puked all night, fabulous start! I was sick 3 times before we even got to London including once in the middle of the train as I didn't get to the loo in time :( So first off was a private trip together on the London Eye which I could barely stay conscious for or appreciate and just lied on the bench/OH the whole way round.... Then there was afternoon tea boat cruise on the Thames which was amazing but I couldn't even enjoy or eat any of it and had to go upstairs on my own in the fresh air so I wasn't sick again. Unfortunately boats don't help flu! The final part was onto a bar for drinks and tapas which I eventually enjoyed 30 minutes before leaving after sleeping on a sofa there! To top it off, my West Country lot inc. Mum, bridesmaid/sister missed the boat because the car broke down in SE London and they missed it by a mere 10 minutes so after a 5.5hr trek, they finally arrived for the bar part! We were going to have a meal afterwards but because it got too late we couldn't as they had to drive home unfortunately...

I feel awful about being ill (and still being ill) and my family missing most of the day especially when our best man organised such an amazing day :( It was an ideal day for us and exactly what we were hoping for but at least everyone else was able to enjoy it! Our usherettes and best man are planning a hen take 2 a couple of days before the wedding (spa and meal) so that I can enjoy it this time which is nice of them :)

Oh no, sorry to hear you are not well. Like VictoriaL46 has said, things like that cannot be helped and yes, what lovely thing to have a spa & meal nearer the wedding.......

Sorry to hear you weren't well but these things happen and it was NOT your fault, you have nothing to feel guilty for! It sounds lovely and as though a lot of thought went into it, at least everyone else had a great time and you've now got your hen take 2 to look forward to, which in itself is an incredible gesture! xx

Oh no! That's awful! Did you go to your dress fitting?

I went but can't remember much about it other than I've put on weight. I even forgot to tell them I wanted a bustle put in but I rang up yesterday and bless her, the lady automatically put one on the paperwork as she knew I wanted one having mentioned it before!

I didn't really have any choice because being wedding season, I know that if I didn't go, they wouldn't have any spare appointments for me and my alterations.. She offered to just do the alterations as planned without putting it on (needed the corset put in the back) but my sister was with us and hasn't seen my dress yet so I had to :(

I'm feeling quite bitter atm about hen parties (no offence to anyone else) because I feel diddled and really down about the fact that everyone is going out and having their hen parties and sometimes more than one and I couldn't even enjoy my one. I see pics going up on the forum or on bride groups on fb and think you lucky things but what about me?! I'm so jealous :( Normal? Tell me I'm not being a total b***h?? x
