Hello ladies... so I found the dress today!!! It feels so good to say it as I've tried probably around 100 dresses and though I'd never find the one so I'm incredibly happy and love the dress :-)

Now.. the dress has a slighlty vintage-y feel to it and I think that a birdcage veil and some glamour hollywood waves will look perfect but at the same time not sure if brides actually wear birdcage veils? The lady in the shop gave me a funny look when I asked if they had any in store to try lol so I'm not sure about it now as originally wanted a long veil but as the dress has so much detail I dont want to cover it up with a long veil..

    Any thoughts?

    Thank you!

I know people say this all the time but if you fancy a birdcage veil then go for it.... Not 100% sure where you get them from but I'm sure you could g00gl3 it and get results

My friends sister had one a couple of years ago so yes people still have them. It really suited her character

It might be worth trying both birdcage and regular veils, as they're a bit like dresses really that one suits and you love it and others just don't work. I think 3tsy may have them. X

I have to say I am not a fan of them but if it suits you and the style of the dress then go for it :-) congrats on finally finding your dress too :-)

Have you got a picture of your dress you can post?
I have been toying with the idea if a 50s style dress and in a lot of the photos they are styled out with a birdcage veil, so I wouldn't worry about the woman in the shop.

Try one and see if you like it. Every one is different. People do still wear them but it is something that less wear because it's less conventional. Don't let that stop you though.

I would definitely give it a go. Why not call round some other dress shops to see if they stock them?

I never wanted a veil until I had seen a birdcage veil on DTTB. And never realised how many different styles there is out there too and different styles of netting. Still not decided yet but have plenty of time to figure out what I want. But if that's your style and it's something your interesting in only you can decide. Do t let people talk you out of it just because they don't think it's something they'd wear, totally up to you. xXx
