yeh i am...i dont know that much about the gypsy culture/community bt its opened my eyes to see they just normal people but with a different way of living and tbh sometimes seems to be better than some of non travellers..esp with their morals and values!!!

i often come across a lot of travellers at work and although i have no prejudices to any one and treat them as anyother customer somtimes they come across as rude and arrogrant..........because some people dont understand them does not mean that everybody would........ but this has given me a bit more insite into their lifestyly and culture

you got to see it from their view though..it cant be easy to be judged just on how you choose to live and have people hate you before even getting to know you so i can understand why they are rude sometimes tbh!

that was interesting what was going on with their homes - can't get over the 6 year old girls - wouldn't be seeing my kids dance like that at that age making themselves look like a paedophiles picnic!

i think the morals are fantastic, and the culture is v interesting. I agree with Jo; just cause theyre travellers doesnt means theyre nessecairly theives; how would you feel if you were one of them, your whole life had been building up to this one day, you were about to marry the man you love, and then boom, you cant cause the venue says "you're bad people"; so unfair!!!

Plus, if you google whats going on in italy, you'll see why im so anti this treatment; gypsies are getting beaten to death, and although the police have evidence to prove who it was, theyre taking no action. A three year old girl was burned to death [ ithink, either that or beaten] and her parents are in jail. Not the guy whos DNA, hair and shoe marks were at the scene of the crime NAD BOASTED ABOUT IT ON FACEBOOK!!!

Abi4; thats suprising; they dont normally marry out, do they? i think ur v lucky to have lived on a site; h2b has irish traveller blood but its so distant now, i doubt we'd be able to. That, and the fact that we're already living together, makes the whole thing v unlikely lolz. As much as we'd like to we know its never goingt o happen. Doesnt mean we cantstick to the morals we oth believe in for our childern, whether we were raised/acted the same way or not :]

yeah the people in the show i know theyd get discounts etc but i have a traveller friend [called claire, family in a house in colchester] who said that her sisters wedding was v similar to one of the ones id seen, and although she wouldnt say just how expensive, she told me it was more than most mortgage deposits!!
& i spoke to her brother once about dating non-traveler girls, and he said that if he fell in love, he'd think about it, but if it wasnt love it wasnt worth it. her dad was funny about C being friends with me, let alone anything else!

Its such a shame that things have gone so badly for you!! i know this wont help but heres my two pence;
i believe that whatever we go through in life is a test to prove that we are worth our rewards. In my opinion, your h2b, and ur children, ar only part of the reward you will get. You will be rewarded for your struggles, in the end, as we all are. I believe that finding my man so early was my reward for getting out of my negative situation and getting off the drugs.
