Hi Everyone, i've been looking around the net for wedding dress and bridesmaid dress ideas. As i live in a small town in Suffolk i dont really have access to a lot of the bigger department stores which tend to stock these sort of things. I was really surprised to find that British Home Stores (BHS) stock a really big range of dresses for both the bride and bridesmaids. Has anyone else got their dresses from there? If so were you impressed with the quality etc of the dress? I am thinking of taking my bridesmaids to Norwich or lakeside to one of the bigger BHS's and taking a look. Can anyone else suggest good places to look for reasonably priced dresses? Thanks. xx

We looked at some dresses in there for my daughter when my aunty got married a few years ago and they were beautiful! There was one we would have bought in a heartbeat but Honey didn't like it bless her.
If it's reasonably priced dresses you're after then try Debenhams as well, Monsoon during sale time has some cracking dresses too.

    It's right what they say
"The course of true love never runs smoothly"
But if it had been easy then we wouldn't love each other as
much as we do right now - 1 week to go :D

I wore a BHS dress a couple of years ago for my sisters wedding, and in fact they still do the dress! It's a long, pale pink dress with a gather to one side.

It didn't fit me brilliantly as I am quite big busted - I found the sizes that fitted my bosoms were too loose round the hips and tummy, and those that fitted round the hips and tummy I literally fell out. I ended up going somewhere inbetween and to be fair in photo's it looked fine and the quality was excellent. It also suited a wide range of shapes, sizes and colours.

If you have a Debenhams nearby they're worth a visit. Also bridal shops tend to stock some bridesmaids dresses and most I've spoken to about them they're around about the same price as BHS.

    Good luck x

my ex's partner is getting her dress from debenhams and i think she is getting the bridesmaids dresses from bhs. I have looked at their range of dresses myself as getting married in 2012. i have my dress already but will be looking at the range of bridesmaids dresses from there for them. The best thing is that the dresses are reasonably priced in there

I'm getting my bridesmaid dresses from there. Merlot coloured ones. Took my maid of honour in there yesterday and she tried on a couple of different designs. The long ones on her were really long, think they may have to be altered. I took a couple of pics so I have an idea of what they look like on my bridesmaid.
The wedding dresses look really nice but the shop in Milton Keynes that I have been in they only have 2 dresses on show on mannequins.

Alsbetty, when I was in BHS I saw this dress. You may not like it very much, its more of a prom dress, but in my mind they are sort of bridemaid dresses as well. Not proper chocolate brown but its taupe (greyish brown).

BHS do good, cheap dresses, but always have limited stock, to save money they have taken most of it out of the shops, only leaving it in the superstores. The sizings are also well out on them, so you will need to order bigger.

I love the BHS dresses, just check they have them in the actual shop before you make a special trip though as I went in BHS yesterday in Stratford Upon Avon and they don't even have a wedding department!!! :0 xx

I tried some of the dresses on in Southampton, Quality was absolutely fine and the fit was good and held me in tight enough to feel good, except I have little boobs and I found some styles were really unflattering because of my fried eggs! There was a lovely one which was on my top 5, but didnt end up going for and it was reduced from £250 to £125 about 2 months ago xxx

Think there is a wedding department in the BHS in Norwich so i might take a trip over there, they also have one in the BHS in Lakeside as well so that might be worth a look 2. I've got plenty of time as not getting married for another 17 months and i'm waiting until i loose some more weight before i get my own dress. x

Have you got a tk max near you? My sister went in there on thursday and came back with a gorjus pink dress with roses on and a little cardi to match for my niece. Both cost £10 It looks amazing. (she got for my sons christening so will post picks of it after) She also got a thiner one too for £5. she said they had all sorts in there for all ages so might be worth a look.
I want to go to primark as apparently is good too, ive never been :-(
